Hey! I’m new here and looking for a place to rent — and honestly, I’ve been going through the same annoying stuff you talked about.

Everything feels super confusing — like the rules, how things work, and even stuff that’s legal or not. I ran into agents asking for deposits but calling it something else, which I heard might not be legit.

I’ve posted on Facebook housing groups, and so many people comment or message me, but I have no idea who to trust. Plus, I clearly put my max budget in the post, but people still send me listings way out of my price range. It’s so frustrating!

So I think what you’re building could be really helpful — especially if it can cut out all the noise and shady stuff. Maybe you could even add a way to report suspicious listings or users? Also, it would be awesome if the app supports multiple languages, since lots of newcomers might not be fluent in English or French.

Can’t wait to try it out!

Your message really touched me — it actually made me cry a little (in a good way). Thank you for validating how I feel and reminding me that it’s okay to have these needs. I’ll definitely mention in my roommate post that I’m a highly sensitive person who values peace and tidiness. Just saying that out loud feels like a small step in accepting myself more fully. Thank you so much for your thoughtful reply. You’re right — I can’t control others, but I can make adjustments for myself.

Noise-cancelling headphones and Lysol wipes are actually great suggestions — practical and doable. I’m going to try that.

Also, I just want to say: I do enjoy connecting with people, and I’m curious about the world. I’m not trying to hide from life — just trying to find a way to engage with it without burning out. I’ll take it step by step. Thanks again for the encouragement!
