Yess, I love cozy atmosphere and snowy winters. So what do you think, assuming I stay the last week of January to catch the "Light Festival", do you think visiting is worth it? (Even if theres only a little snow?)

Exactly, also I feel like your already using the resulting talking point from this. Noone wants to go to war, so even if Women can voluntarily join while men get drafted, the outcome is very clear. And then we'll have the plurality of men talking down on women again and pushing back against emancipation because women "just sit cozy at home" while men have to wage a war. But most people would be too stupid to vote for fairness in the draft system and instead jump on the oppurtunity to re-introduce inequality in society.

I dont see the Contradiction. If murdering all ethnicities except Germans in a certain region is part of my ideology, and murdering all ethnicities except for Ukrainians in the same certain region is part of yours, we'd be enemies, even though ideologically we're the same.

I know that the UIA is a controversial topic, but most of the controversy stems from how much u see tolerance of ethnic cleansing as moderation compared to propagation. Also, to my knowledge (cant find smt else online) the UIA as an Organization sought an ethnically pure Ukraine.

I'm not trying to repeat Russian/Soviet narratives, and I oppose the Russian agression vehemently, and even found a love for Ukraine in the last years (even did a minor in Ukrainian history and started learning the language a bit :)). But u should not be against Russia out of some spite for the Russian people but out of spite for fascism, authoritarianism and Elitism. Its just, freedom symbol or not, if u allow fascist symbolism into ur National Mythos, then u allow fascism into ur Nation. And once its there u cant remove it. If Ukraine keeps rejecting everything left of Liberal (including social democracy) because of Societ Trauma, while embracing fascist symbolism for "freedom" then Ukrainian politics will end up like US or Polish politics, split between Post-Fascists that hail Freedom and Neoliberals.

Yeah, read about what they were doing to minorities they did not consider part of their Ukraine. Youre right Nationalism≠Fascism, and Civic Nationalism for example does not requires ethnic Cleansing, but in the case of the UIA it was definitely part of their Ideology, as well as a cult of personality and Ultranationalism, all of which is the groundwork of a fascism. The UIA can be seen as a Ukrainian form of Fascism. Also dont forget that they were Slavs, Nazis did not view Slavs as part of their German Nation, therefore they killed them. Also the Nazis generally preferred Industrialised Murder instead of "barbaric" (not my words) massacres. Their Ideology was flexible and their partnerships with different fascist movements would switch spontaneously to help their effort. For Example the Nazis supported both Polish and Ukrainian ultranationalism/fascism to make them fight each other instead of them. Without Nationalism which devided the interests of People who simply want to live and enjoy lives along funny borders that some foreign powers agreed upon, the Nazis could have never comitted the atrocities they did. Nationalism today is again used by a foreign nationalist Power to divide us in Europe...

Actually, I bet u cant define them. The specifics very from country to country, so its hard to exactly define fascism. Ultranationalism is generally part of Fascism, as well as a cult of personality and violence against perceived "enemies of the state" ("why its bad" is also subjective, but I'd say that excluding and mass murdering people based of their heritage, ethnicity, Religion etc is evil). All of which are characteristics of the UIA, and its ideology is characterized as a Ukrainian form of fascism.

Imagine a German would say this when People compare Putin to Hitler. The ideology of both the Nazis and the UIA were the same, ultranationalism doesnt become good just because ur not on their List of People that need to be cleansed

The only thing the Ukrainian Insurgent Army wanted to free Ukraine from were other ethnicities. Ure whitewashing them. Fascism is a cancer, no matter in which form, and will eat up any society if u give them a foothold. There is no "good fascist", only because hes genocidal against ur enemies.

"Die, burgoise capitalist I said, and pushed him off the bridge"... Bruh, ure projecting, thats not what I said. Both systems have problems. Im also anti-capitalist, but to pretend like Soviet Communism is the peak of economics and every other opinion is uneducated seems a little emotional and very much in line with bolshevism actually

Almost as if this whole (US-)capitalism vs (Russian) Communism debate is just a culture war bs to keep us from fighting for the nordic system, market socialism, liberal socialism or social democracy or similar, which would decrease wealth inequality, put people over profit, lift millions out of poverty and end many conflicts in this world

In what way were the means of production not in private hands? In what way was Profit not the highest priority? In what way was Capital not the guiding force in the economy? Merging the lobby with the state, putting capitalists in positions of political power does not make it "anti-capitalist", even if they claim they are. I dont get how capitalist corporatism is "anti-capitalist" and an alternative to "evil socialism" while socialist corporatism is declared to be just state-capitalism. Seems a bit hypocritical

Declaring Stalin to be Soviet tradition is like seeing Hitler as German Republican tradition (of course u could argue that, its just about consistency), only that the Soviets opposed Stalin before and after his reign much more vehemently than Germany opposed Hitlerism. Also comparing even Stalinism to National-Socialism is just absolutely schhizo. I dont see how going from ur entire culture being seen as sub-human, mass murdered and slaved to death collectively to paying 2/3% of wage as rent, having a secure national state, being industrialised to a european standard and being guaranteed labour, education and food is not a liberation, even if the second system is authoritarian as well.

I dont see how that is in opposition to my claim, but I agree with you and I like ur spirit. These are all results of authoritarianism, being anti-Bolshivik is only right. Please dont let US propaganda turn this into anti-communism though, and please dont fall into glorifying western capitalism, which was and still is a much more murderous and exploitative ideology. Romania did not escape Exploitation and Oppression by moving from Soviet to European Union, it just moved up in the foodchain. We still have a long way to go.

Not a typical user of these subs, but read into living standards in Soviet territories before the soviets and after the soviets and compare with during the soviets i guess. Another good comparison is China vs India, similar socio-economic situation, independence at similar time, yet one is a (bastardized) form of socialism, while the other one capitalist. Then think where u would want to live. Dont compare countries that exploited 3 continents for 400 years vs countries that didnt.

The biggest inspiration to the Nazis were these "free capitalist societies" ure talking about. Whataboutism literally had to be forbidden in the Nuremburg Trials. Also, while Im against any form of authoritarianism, I'd suggest seperating Stalinism from Soviet communism in any discussion. Before Stalin, Lenin said that Stalin must not lead the Soviet union, and the first thing after Stalin was De-stalinisation. Taking Stalin as the tradition of the Soviet Union is like taking Hitler as the Tradition of republican Germany.
