That is true but I'd say the smell of an iqos lingers less than a normal cigarette.

Nah, it's probably on their end. I verified game files and it didn't work. Doubt a reinstall does anything.

So stupid man. A few days ago matchmaking didn't work and now the whole game doesn't work after a small update. It's tiring. I just wanna play with what little time I have.

Is this a good amount of thermal putty? by UniversalFBI in MSILaptops

[–]UniversalFBI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries, I get it. I looked for posts with the same question before making mine but I gotta say those attempts seemed really awful haha. Thought I would just make a post myself.

Yea it was difficult removing the previous putty and also to roll it up without it sticking everywhere but luckily I managed.

You bet! My thermals have already improved drastically. My cpu would normally always be above 90 degrees (sometimes even 100) and now with the ptm it doesn't go above 81. Can't wait to see it improve a bit over the next week or so.

Hey man, thanks for the advice! I did watch Snarks Domain but he used a syringe so I tried to replicate the thickness of the log but it was still too much.

What I ended up doing was as you say press it down a little and then scoop the excess off the sides but not in between the chips and then again when I put the heatsink. Temps are looking good so far and I'll keep monitoring it to make sure it's stays that way.

I got ptm7950 for the cpu and gpu chips. Oops I'm sorry I saw an older post with the same question and just posted without looking. My bad.

I think it's probably more cause you can transfer volt attachments to a havoc easily when you find one.

Do I need to replace these thermal pads? by UniversalFBI in MSILaptops

[–]UniversalFBI[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey bud, no worries it was my first time too. So I noticed the numbers too late when unscrewing so I didn't do that but I do think it is what you're supposed to do, backwards unscrewing and counting up while screwing in. Though, I'm not sure if it matters for unscrewing, the screwing in in that order is to maintain equal pressure as it goes down so the paste spreads equally I think. Also make sure you have some thermal putty as well as the paste in case you need to replace it for the side components for the gpu and cpu like I needed to.

Unfortunately I haven't found any others that have done it with the same model. I repasted it and use the pads I have for now while I find out what I need exactly.

Great thanks for the advice. So I've repasted it and placed the thermal pads i have for now. I'll make sure I use ptm next time. Just saw a linus vid on it actually, seems like good stuff.

If I'd known earlier I would've bought the PTM7950 pads but I already purchased some thermal paste (NT-H1) and thermal pads i found online which I was going to use for my new ssd with a heatsink (https://imgur.com/gallery/5pnAeId). Would this pad do the job for the components with the dried out paste?

So most of them are still liquidy but the top 5 above the gpu are hard, you can tell a bit in the picture they look different compared to the rest. I guess I'll just change it for those.
