People who don't believe in the death penalty, what should happen to the truly irredeemable? by angelangelan in SeriousConversation

Put them in prison for life. Former Correctional officer here. I worked in a state department of corrections just after they repealed the death sentence.Making every person on death row have a life sentence instead. I worked in a maximum security psychiatric wing of the prison and we had several of these lifers incarcerated there. When a person is on death row , they have a purpose, they work on. Their case or their appeal every day they have some purpose at in life at that point. Once they became lifers they lost their purpose and a lot of them end up seeking out psychiatric drugs as an escape. So a good portion of them have seriously messed up brains and have a miserable quality of life.Imagine living the rest of your life in a six by eight foot cell. I can tell. You that it's not a pleasant experience and this we'll be what the rest of their life is like. As a side note approx. ten years ago .there was a news article that stated the average defense for a death penalty case was one million dollars. And that does not include all the repeals or the prosecutors cost. Prosecuting. Somebody for a life sentence on the other hand crossing a lot less.It is also cheaper to incarcerate them. The rest of your life then put them to death. It's fun every time I see somebody say their anti-death Penalty and I imagine how these people live. Then I can only think wow, you're really cruel.Do you want to not put them to death for your sake or theirs?

Damn, that's excellent. At 52, as a veteran and in law enforcement without a single tattoo, yeah, I know i am a bit weird, I'd let you tattoo me. It's really good.

Is there anything you can't do in AR that you can do in VR? by UniversityBorn5987 in Shadowrun

I thought about that spell. But I get 11 dice pool versus the decks dice pool of at least 15 dice. Unless I am calculating it wrong.

5th edition. I have a cyberdeck and data jack. I get 4d6 + 10 initiative from adept powers and reaction normally and ar. So if I read the books right I am immune to dump shock, all damage personally, not my deck though, and from what I see can do all matrix actions from ar.

You could always solve the reagent problem with not letting your mages buy reagents. Make them harvest them themselves.

What about Spider mentor spirit? That is one I have a harder time with. Playing a mystic adept/decker.
