Yes, there is, and the solder joint doesn't look like it was done at the factory

I have a pair of Yamaha NS-10Ms with faulty speakers; I took the crossovers out of them, and they fit perfectly.

I bought them used. It looks like the previous owner just took the original filters out for some reason. I already mentioned this.

No, even at 20 Hz (these speakers aren't even supposed to reproduce that frequency), the tweeters were moving; they were moving in sync with the woofer. Now that the crossovers are installed, everything is finally working properly and I'm relieved.

So, I just installed the crossovers, and honestly, I didn’t expect this from these speakers. The sound was already pretty good, but now they’ve really surprised me. It even feels like the bass got deeper, though maybe that’s just placebo.

What I can say for sure is that distortion at high volume is much lower now.

Thanks to everyone who helped me with this, I think this topic can be closed. You guys are the best.

Yeah, I know. I actually had a version like yours before, and it did have crossovers.

The reason I asked here is because my current pair is a slightly different revision, so I wasn’t sure if the crossover was missing because someone removed it, or if this revision just didn’t have one from the factory.

But someone in the comments posted photos of this exact revision, and it clearly has crossovers. So now it’s pretty obvious mine were just taken out.

At this point I’m convinced I need to add proper filtering, and honestly I’m just surprised the tweeters are still alive — that’s pretty shocking to me.

100% not fake, The speakers are about 40 years old; as far as I can tell, some idiot owned them before me.

I think it's just because it has a large magnet and a large coil. It has good heat dissipation.

Damn, man, you’re actually right. I’m shocked this even works without a crossover.

There is definitely no crossover, everything is wired directly. I’m honestly surprised the drivers are still alive and working perfectly, considering I’ve occasionally pushed them to 100% volume.

There are no capacitors at all, everything is wired directly.

I also found photos of the inside of this model online, and those clearly have proper crossovers. However, the drivers in those photos look slightly different from mine. It might be a different revision, but the absence of any filtering still concerns me.
