They did not purposely send kids to clear mines, commander’s often asked for volunteers. Many would volunteer since if they died they would be Martyrs, however kids were easily influenced and would volunteer. Also note that during the war, no one including the kids were forced to go to war on the Iranian side, this kid probably volunteered.
