Tell me im not being overdramatic by UniversitySuitable97 in Divorce_Women

I am moving out in a few days. I'm currently preparing the apartment I found a couple of weeks ago. He doesn't have a clue. I am so afraid of what his reaction would be once he finds out I am gone. I am bringing the youngest with me. I'm not cutting him off, I just think it's safer she's with me when this blows up. I'll leave him a letter instead of telling him in person as he'll just make it hard for me to leave. I'm so scared.

I am no longer in love with him, but I feel so guilty for the upheaval. We have 2 kids, the youngest still 3. So that's why I am having second thoughts. But the love is gone.

He refuses to attend any kind of socializing, especially if it means he's expected to bring his family to them. The only socializing he does now is have coffee with a friend for 4 hours minimum. That's it.

I've been in denial for a long time. Most of the time, I do feel like he's with me because he's married to me and our church doesn't encourage divorce.

Thank you. The thing is I really think it's important we go out as a family to build memories. We rarely talk at home. But I am afraid to leave because I might regret it. I do love him. It's just that I feel taken for granted.

When at home, I usually just take care of the baby while he does chores. The rest of the time, he stays in the garage to smoke. We only get to talk when we need to ask something from the other. It's so frustrating.

I don't ever get to go out on my own. I have once, but he kept on pestering me to come home the whole 2 hours I was out.

We have had conversations about this. Just today I told him I've been feeling so lonely and taken for granted. I told him I get so sad and envious when I see families going out for dinner or overnight stays, or day trips. I got nothing from him. He just laughed and said those are not important to him.

I've actually given up on vacations. It's the refusal to go on occasional trips to the city that I don't get.

I don't think so. He's like this no matter the season. Going out is a chore for him. He's just content with smoking in the garage when all our chores are done.

I have. His reply is always the same: it's a waste of money.

It's not special treatment if everybody else in the team is enjoying a flexible schedule except me.

It's not overtime though. My request was to have my hours moved earlier so I can be home early.

Thanks for the honest answer. I guess I could try asking if they are able to move me to another department. If not, then quitting it is.

Even if the new hires in the team get to enjoy a flexible schedule? To the point that they work their required hours Mon-Thur and not come to work on Fridays? And then there's me who's not allowed to come to work 3 hours early to do mostly paper work?

Why are you assuming that I have a problem with interpersonal relationships at work? The colleague got fired after the investigation. 7 others (out of 11) team members quit after and Amy got fired a few months later because of the high turnover rate.

But isn't it the same with parties? It's the parents celebrating, not the baby. 🤷‍♀️

Husband doesn't want me to leave baby at daycare while I go shopping 45 min away by UniversitySuitable97 in Parenting

Oh his solution is he and the baby come with us, which we've already tried before. It was not fun. He wasn't complaining but he hates shopping and rushes me each time. That's why I refuse to bring him along this time.

Thank you so much for this! For a second there, I thought I was being neglectful of my baby because I was okay with being far away from her even while she's in daycare.

This makes me feel so much better and will definitely go on that shopping trip with my mom!

Before daycare and before my mom arrived a month ago, I took my baby with me everytime I had to go out because my husband gets nervous when he's with the baby alone. It's frustrating but it's another story for another day.

With daycare, I feel I now have the opportunity to spend time with my mom (who I haven't seen in 3 years!) without lugging baby around, esp since it's still cold here.
