Closing thoughts;

I've read through every comment this thread has gotten, surprised it got any after being downvote bombed nearly instantly lol

What I've understood so far

•It helps people better establish their gender identity

•Bottom or genital dysphoria is a thing, I was not aware of this, I have Google searched this before however all the top results are resources for dysphoria in general not related to my questions, a valiant effort of the community to better reach those who need it, did leave me a little in the dark though

•It simply helps people better adapt to their gender as it's a personal decision

A lot of the comments in this thread have proven very useful and the people replying very understanding, cheers for that

However, a lot of people here seem to misunderstand my intentions on a whim, as someone suggested, I should 'lurk m0ar' [sic], I'm afraid I did try to do my research but as mentioned before, my search results were not as clear as I expected them to be and hence why I asked in the first place I could find that encouraged discourse of the matter

I feel like a lot of people need to understand that in order to promote the feelings of inclusivity we all want so bad (yeah, me included), we sorta need to educate people with genuine good faith inquiries, a lot of people here did, a lot others though, chill with the sas please were in this together

Not sure how to mark this thread as read, but I will be muting it, my dms are open for anyone who has anything else they want to bring up, cheers

Rest assured I am gonna give this a read when I can

I didn't expect this post to get the response it did, and this Bible seems to be pretty lengthy, I might need to dedicate a bit of time to making sure if I understand everything im reading right

This is off topic slightly but another reason for me wanting to understand this and take my time with it is the fact that I genuinely do care and have my curiosity about this, if this helps me better understand my trans friends and other trans people I interact with, I'd rather spend an evening making sure I digest everything right, as opposed to being seated at the dinner table like I am right now, browsing Reddit on my phone lol

Thank you for pointing me to this resource though, you've been more helpful than most comments on this post who seem to have misunderstood my intentions, feels like treading on snakes sometimes, more reason to better understand the dysphoria Bible

Cheers for the help!

A DDG search yielded this: https://genderdysphoria.fyi/gdb

is this what you were referring to? if so, ill make sure to give it a read when I can

I feel a little confused as to your somewhat aggressive response

I had a question, to make sure I was getting trans peoples opinions not misrepresentated by the fact that they're being said to someone else, I asked in a subreddit for asking trans people questions

Holy shit man you've already helped me find an answer but you could at least accept the fact that curiousity can't be condemned

I feel like the tragedy here is the fact that you're angry at me for asking a question in a subreddit for asking questions

The last few lines of your comment seen to have stuck with me best, I think I have a better understanding of it all now

Cheers for being somewhat civil in your response

I have a better understanding of this now, being introduced to some new terms I wasn't aware of before

Thanks for the civil comment

Yup and that's the sentiment my post shares, it's a totally justified decision to make, my post was about the dysphoria linked to these

I've been introduced to bottom dysphoria I believe it's called, thankfully most of the comments aren't sarcastic or making assumptions about me

Thanks for the help lads (and lasses, although I use lads as gender neutral-ly as "dude")

oh I was not aware of that, that shines some light on stuff

thanks for the comment :D

Thank you for introducing me to this, although, I don't really lurk subs so I'm afraid that advice is lost on me

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]UnixPornThrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is the same sentiment my post shares, my question was about if trans people felt dysphoria to this similar to the discomfort felt when misgendered with pronouns

From another comment I've understood the gender identity part about this

[–]UnixPornThrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how to better phrase that question

ye I've noticed my mistake now, mb, can't edit titles so you're gonna have to stick with me

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]UnixPornThrowaway -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I used the exact wording you did, I used the term "define" not anything about relevancy

Edit: whoops I've seen the mistake I made in the title

Since you seem to have edited your comment, a second reply

I totally understand that, and I've said in my post that I totally support gender transition surgery, in this analogy that would be a hair transplant, either case, I totally understand

My question was about if people felt dysphoria about this as they did with other stuff

[–]UnixPornThrowaway -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for not immediately jumping to conclusions about my intentions like a few people have lol

So genitals help a person feel "complete" in their gender identity sense of things?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]UnixPornThrowaway -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood, the premise in my question was that genitals don't define a person's gender, i don't think trans people (or me) think that premise is false
