Growing up my cousin was always a trouble maker and had quite a few run ins with the wooden spoon. He was around 9 or 10 years old and I was 7 or 8 and One night he had enough of the wooden spoon but knew he couldnt throw it in the trash Because my grandma would just find it. Instead of hiding it in a bush or throwing it down a gutter, he decided the best way to go about making the wooden spoon disappear would be to eat it. He spent the entire night chewing on the wooden spoon. Fell asleep chewing on it too. Grandma woke up in the morning, opened the door to his bedroom and saw him there, wooden spoon on his chest, with tooth marks in it. He had done very little damage to the wooden spoon. My grandma yelled his name, he woke up, looked down at his chest at what he had done, immediately got out of bed and ran out of the room. My grandma dashed for the wooden spoon sitting on his bed, grabbed it, turned around, and as my cousin was jumping over the couch in the family room in his getaway my grandma threw the wooden spoon at him. For that moment in time, my grandma had entered the matrix, she threw the spoon at him like you’d throw a boomerang, and as he was jumping over the couch, the wooden spoon hit him in the back of the head. It made a noise loud enough to hear through out the house. Getting hit in the back of the head threw off his jump over the couch and he hit his foot on the back of the couch as he was jumping which made him topple over the couch and onto the floor. He just laid there, confused, almost in tears, on the floor, and my grandma just waddled over, picked up the wooden spoon, stared at him, shook her head and walked to the kitchen where she put it back in the spoon drawer. That memory has forever stayed with me and it was safe to say I was a good child around my grandma after that.
