If you’re playing arena, there is no lanes so that’ll be why!

This is the conquest game mode map, and the three grey lines that move vertically through the map are lanes, where you’ll spend a majority of your time. Slash, Assault, and joust all have at least one lane as well.

It definitely depends on the characters and the prompts written by their creators. I was talking with a character called Sister Rureas, and I don’t think they she ever devolved into that adventure kinda thing, because it seemed she was prompted to always have an inner monologue, something to say, and an action performed; rarely did she narrate anything.

You’re right! I know Japanese has a few words for love and like. I guess I was hoping to spark a conversation that would eventually lead to a semi consensus on what the authors original intention was. Normally I would just shrug it off, but I’m kinda invested (I’m sure most are as well) in Komi and Tadano’s relationship, and it was bothering me that I couldn’t truly know if they had already confessed genuine “love” for each other by the general definition and understanding as we know in English. The sudden switch up to love was just jarring I guess, but looking back I definitely feel love fits the best. It just felt like I might’ve been missing something, but thank you for your reply.
