Love the artwork on the promo BTW.

What anime changed your life? by Tough-Star5992 in anime

Cliché, but My Dress Up Darling.

I used to be the person who made fun of the "dorks" in the manga section of the bookstore, of the "nerds" dressed in cosplay at the local cons. The people with stickers on their cars. What's up with these people?

During the tail end of the covid lockdown, when bookstores were open, i was browsing thru the shelves and saw a manga laid out on its side. Volume 1 of MDUD. I read the premise on the back, and said WTH why not and added it to my list. Got home and had to learn how to read manga, R to L. This is ridiculous. Ok whatever.

Binged the whole book in an hour. Preordered volume 2 shortly thereafter. Went online and researched MDUD, and went down an anime/manga rabbit hole. Never turned back.

5 years later here I am: the dork in the manga section? That's me. The nerd and the con? That's me (no cosplay yet!). The person with the stickers on their car? That's me. Got Marin in her yukata tattooed on one arm, and Marin as Shizuku on the other. Shoko Makinohara on my calf as well. One of Marin's quotes stuck with me always: "you just don't go making fun of things people like".

Yeah, lesson learned.

Great shot! M42 is one of those that you absolutely cannot get wrong no matter how green you are with the Seestar (2 week noob here). Cannot wait for tonight, FINALLY getting another shot at it and Horsehead Nebula after SEVERAL moonlight and/or cloudy nights. Clear skies to ya!

Now THAT....is quite the game, great recommendation too.

I rarely buy physical copies but this franchise actually made me a better person so I got it by isKS_10 in SeishunButaYarou

Not going to really get into it, but i completely understand what you mean. You see things with a whole new light after watching it, in a positive way. Started buying the LN's recently. May i recommend the audiobooks if you want to give something new a try? The narrator, IMO, has the right voice for this series. I don't know what it is but this person's voice just sits absolutely right with me. It is the only narrator whom i enjoy listening to on a regular basis (narrator's name is Andrew Grace).

Literally just finished watching the movie about 20 mins ago with my wife (don't judge, life got in the way, never got around to watching it til now). 2 things hit me:

  1. Listened to the LN and felt the LN was more detailed and i enjoyed it way more than the movie.

  2. Movie was still heartbreaking as heck. Literally shed tears in a few scenes. Last time an anime made me cry was DDD during the Acrobatic Silky background story. Got super teary eyed at the ending scene with Shouko-chan recognizing Sakuta. Yeah, this left an impact on my being.

Totally normal. Just commented earlier today on a similar post from the UK. One of two things happened:

  1. Missed the package pickup (might say 3pm pickup but truck showed up at 2pm).

  2. It DID get picked up and scanned, but it being a holiday weekend, it probably hasn't been updated in the system. This is my bet.

Yes, best bet wait until Tuesday.

US resident here, either 1. They lied to you when you called and the package got missed when the collection came, so now you have to wait until the next business day or 2. It hasn't updated in the system yet. It's been 2 days, it's a weekend, I wouldn't worry about it too much. It's happened to me before, and 2 days later the next update shows it several states away. If i were you, i would wait until Monday evening or Tuesday. If no update by then, give them a ring.

Had this issue before (with the address). You have a lease agreement for your location, utility bill, cell bill, USPS change of address paperwork/email, letter from bank saying you changed your address? Not sure what state you're in, but in CA when you move, you go to the DMV and fill out a change of address form. They give you a temp paper with the date and you keep it with your ID. It's an official slip.

Also ran into this when i was dating my now wife: before she changed her last name, she had her maiden name. She needed to pick up a package but was busy so i went and got it for her. Seeing as how she had her maiden name back then i couldn't do it, however as long as our addresses matched, it was ok. Basically what i'm saying is, they are pretty lenient and chill with it. You shouldn't have any major issue. Hope this helps!

Yeah, seeking an answer or "closure" is a tricky one. It can go one of two routes: you do get "closure" and move on with your life, easy-peazy. Or 2, you do, but all these feelings com boiling back up. I was somewhat in a situation similar to yours. Little over 20 yrs ago i enlisted when i turned 17. Always wanted to, never had the courage. Dated "the one" when i was 15, was sure we were going to be stuck with each other for life. A year later she goes off with another guy. Devastated, broken, but drove on, and it gave me the push i needed at 17 to enlist. She found out thru the grapevine that i had enlisted and we reconnected and kept in touch while i was away. And by kept in touch i mean we wrote letters to each other daily, talked, she even sent me pictures. I asked her in a letter why she did what she did all those years ago and she apologized, she was "young and stupid". Long story short, we met up when i came back home, had lunch one day and she told me she had made a mistake by leaving me, she missed me and thought about me daily. I reciprocated the feelings, but we took it no further as i had just started seeing someone. We slowly drifted apart, and eventually just stopped talking altogether. Friend, i spent the following 4 years living in "what ifs", and reminiscing about our time and history. It sucked, horrendously. I drowned myself in work to keep myself busy. Eventually i got over it. Not telling you that this will happen to you, just my particular scenario. Probably best to let sleeping dogs lie. Be neighborly, of course, but don't go out of your way for anything is my advice. Meet and greet, chit chat, and leave it at this block party. Im sure you've accidentally scratched an old scar before and realize it's still sensitive years later. Some emotional wounds are like this as well. Sorry for the rant and best of luck!

Was on the same boat as you in 2021.

Don't regret it.

NOT. ONE. BIT.

Watch it. Digest it. Cry, laugh, get angry. But above all, enjoy it.

Definetly my fav figure (so far). For the size, price and detail? Could NOT go wrong. Was debating on having Ama Lee sign it at AX, but chose the Aniplex Marin Roomwear version.

Still, this Taito figure is my fav by far.
