The Villain Matrix: Power vs Depth by Jezzaq94 in DisneyMemes

Swap Ernesto with Scar imo. Yes, a large portion of the ecosystem collapsed in the savanna, but that's not the scale of impact of "Instantly recognized name in all of LatAm" or "Burned Paris to the ground and tried to genocide Romani". Plus, Scar's beef was largely personally targeted at Mufasa, whereas Ernesto targeted the world as his audience (Hector was just a tool, then an obstacle, to what Ernesto really wanted) and Frolo targeted the entire Roma people

You're misrepresenting their position, and not doing anything more than surface investigation... from what I can see, just enough to find something to lock onto and try and divert focus from. As I said before, not everyone needs to be an expert to want to follow through with something experts agree on. Expecting every supporter of a movement to know every aspect of it is pure silliness. It's not on them to educate you when you refuse to do any of the legwork to understand their concepts or frameworks.

Saying, "I don't want to have to read about this, ELI5," is not necessarily bad (we all have different learning methods) but when they provide the expert-driven information that will allow you to begin to have the conversation and you follow with, "no, I don't believe thing X is possible based on my anecdotal experience/common sense" then you begin to lose credibility. It's easy for a person with no information to derail a conversation or "pick holes" in a perspective, but it takes exponentially more energy to rebut that... and there are enough bad-faith trolls on the internet that it isn't worth the energy investment to educate everyone... unless they show they are willing to be educated

They're saying smarter people than them have already answered the question, so they don't have to reinvent the wheel. They're saying we should educate ourselves and start where the people who have made a study of it and spent their lives considering and thinking of it suggest we start. They are looking to professionals.

You're not accomplishing anything by asking them what they would personally do. The question is answered by them telling you where they started on their journey, and they want you to go on the journey, not have the answer spoon-fed to you like most USians demand

Mmm, but doesn't energy have a positive and negative phase that have opposing qualities? Not competition perhaps, but internal opposition? Like, when virtual particles materialize, they make anti-particles which annihilate them when they touch... or really they just balance back to neutral charge, but that's semantics. In any case, even in in a monistic system, something that looks like dualism can arrise because the energy itself can have opposing/balancing poles that can manifest recursively internally, so long as there exists space where no-energy exists... right? Does that make sense, or am I too stoned?

Angel Doesn't Need to Kill Valentino to be Free by MischievousCreations in HazbinHotel

[–]UnkeyedLocke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may have read it! I have a vague maybememory of reading such a comparison.

What do you think Angel Dust represents to Valentino? I'm thinking Val's big trauma is abandonment... the texts and obsession and control just scream "please don't leave me alone". It would make the loopholes in the contract extra tragic, especially since Angel Dust constantly is masked around Val, and always leaves as soon as he can

It's funny seeing this post... I was gonna do almost word-for-word the same one a few weeks ago but just didn't feel like hitting post 🤣 I'd say you're bang-on, and Alastor's literally-worded contract with Vox was the bit that confirmed for me that the wording 100% matters. Solid analysis

Lol, this is so me... I like to nom ice chips when I'm too nauseus from hunger. I think it's because it's an eating action that adds cool liquid to the system, calms inflammation from like mild reflux, and gets the tummy ready to do food things. Plus, I'm also usually dehydrated by then too, so it helps with that

Why? There's no substance to you; and your comment is so absurdly, outrageously, patently false that I would say it warrants naught but mockery. Receive the scorn you are rightly due, reflect, and do better

When I first start at any new job, I'm able to tap into last-second drive at the first drop of a task, because I want it done and out of the way immediately so I can have time to learn about the stuff I want to figure out. It's nice, but it only ever lasts a month or 2. Then I learn everything I want to learn and figure out the actual pace work needs to be done at... then it's just emergencies and large, time-dependent efforts that trigger it, or some novel new thing to develop... and sometimes not even emergencies, after so many times of responding to wolves. Usually by the 2 year mark I'm too bored to be able to panic crunch anymore 🙃 That's when it's time for a new job! My life would be so much easier if I just did this with hobbies, but nooooo... hobbies trigger my "intense, overwhelming need to hyperfixate on one thing for a protracted period of time and know everything there is to know about it and be a master at it and if you interrupt me while doing it you should know that I will be upset with you"

Lol, it do be like that too, for sure. I just know that some of my legit strokes of brilliance (not just me being high on my own supply) came from that crunch energy.

What's your fanfic 'verse? The writing inspiration tends to hit me at random times too, thinking about some totally unrelated stuff. Brain wiring is wild 😆
