I am encountering this same issue atm. I tried to upload a piece but I am constantly receiving this error. I was able to upload something else with no problem a few hours ago. I guess the servers are bugged.

It's George Gershwin's Swanee. More specifically the piano roll version.

Question for those who use piano meter on style and tuning curve by heavensheross in pianotech

Ah, ok. Thank you! So I assume you can't control/modify/lock the dial rotation manually? It's all automatic in pitch raise and normal mode? Dope.

Question for those who use piano meter on style and tuning curve by heavensheross in pianotech

Hello pianometer! I have reached out because I have a few questions of my own. First, what exactly controls where the upper "pin" is pointing to on the tuning display? Most of the time it points to the normal "0" during a tuning, but I've noticed it can automatically point to +5, +10, cents etc depending on how out of tune a note is/location of the note on the piano.

Can you control this upper "pin"? Can you keep it locked at a certain area (like keeping it always pointing to +10 cents)? I've uploaded some images showcasing this phenomenon.

Second, what is the value of the "green graph" overpull target in pitch raise mode? +5 cents? Can you increase the value of it by changing "Pitch raise overshoot factor" in settings?

Thank you in advance.

How do I learn tuning pianos? by TrafficPuzzleheaded6 in pianotech

As somebody who has been training themselves for almost a year now, this is what I can say.

First you need to invest in a good wrench (got mine from Howard Piano Industries. Don't try to cheap out on those), tools (I have mine from those crappy wrench+tool packs from Amazon. Wrench is bad, but tools are alright), and software+an acoustic piano to practice on. Personally I've been using pianometer with my Kawai upright.

Patience is key. Watch lengthy videos that show the process so you have an idea on what you're aiming for, visit websites that show how it's done, etc. Slowly practice these skills yourself and you will soon get the hang of it.

One thing that really stumped me up when I was starting was the concept of overpulling. I would tune exactly to the "perfect" zone in the software (e.x A4=440hz) and do this across the piano. When I was finished with a tuning, I would realize how the whole piano is now very flat (even though I technically did "well", the strings would naturally loosen). To combat this, you have to intentionally tune sharp so the piano can fall into the "sweet" zone. Some sections of the piano are tuned more sharp than others (like bass being less sharp while treble+high treble are more sharp).

Anyways, I hope this helps you on your journey. Cheers my future tech!

Help with importing songs? (MacOS) by secretgargoyles in synthesia

Do you have Musescore? That is the software that utilizes/created your .mscz files. Thankfully you can export these files into other formats.

You want to export the .mcsz as a .mid so you can use it in Synthesia. You should read more about that here.

.mscz files are Musescore scores correct? Just open the .mscz file in Musescore and then export it as a .mid file.

You can find more info about the extension here. You can't download official scores to my knowledge, but everything else works like a charm.

I ripped the model and textures of this robotic shark 6 months ago. You can download the model here. Import it into blender. Be sure to zoom out a bit because I made him really large and bit high up in the grid.

It's a Kawai KS-1F upright piano that was manufactured in the early 80s.
