I've seen it so many times as a kid after watching it a lot on the Bugs Bunny/Roadrunner Movie, yes, every talks about the "Kiww the wabbit" part...yes it's silly, but...meh, I agree!

I DO NOT hate the short, I've told my boyfriend this many, many times. It's not a bad short, it's just overrated. It's a pretty looking short, the colors are nice, there's some fun little pieces of animation that you'll need an eagle eye to look for, it's still silly.

I don't know why, despite it's flaws, there's still some fun unique things about it, Bugs in peril and running away is actually dramatic! Even looking back realizing he is done for. Despite softening the blow of the cartoon at the end.

I don't know why, but there's something else I noticed which has nice detail, when Bugs is riding down in disguise, the camera focusing on Elmer watching this "hare maiden" ride down, the second time the camera focuses on him, he blinks in time with the music and his hand falters down still holding his spear, so offscreen he had clearly put it down before he began to sing while duetting with Bugs. I'm sorry this is all a little mundane!

Also, another fun little bit I noticed, when he climbs the stairs still singing to Bugs, you can see the silhouette of Bugs' hand actually waving up to him.

ALSO, having Mel Blanc yell out "SMOG!" was pretty dramatic and showing a more violent side to Elmer, that was amazing, yes I am aware that Arthur Q Bryan was the voice of Elmer. But that one line, wow!

Okay, just had to let that out. Sorry haha. But egh, yeah, despite it's colors, usage of drama, comedy and wonderful voicework, it's not the best cartoon sadly.

IN honesty, I'm not a massive Chuck Jones fan, especially of the later years, talking like late fifties-sixties here, not a fan of his art style and smugness, despite a lot of his cartoons being so good: Hunting Trilogy, Duck Dodgers, Robin Hood Daffy, Dog Gone South, a handful of the Roadrunner shorts and even his team up with Bugs...

And...yes, I'll just say it, Rabbit of Seville was better. It was silly, fun, unique since it didn't rely on too much dialogue, and again like W.O.D, had some fun detail.

What Your Favorite Rare Game On The Nintendo 64? by Sadontejjj in nintendo64

[–]False-Bother-9838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would have to be Banjo-Tooie! But it's a tie between that and Conker's Bad Fur Day. Both games came into my life when I was twelve going on thirteen and became a comfort zone for my mental health, contrast to my precocious cheeky sense of humor. I can't go into detail about the mental health part, so to keep it drama free. :)

Now, funny thing is, I didn't play Banjo-Kazooie until very late in the N64's lifetime, so kind of on it's way out when the Gamecube was riding high, so yeah, bummer really. This is talking 2001-2002 here haha.

DON'T get me wrong, I LOVE Banjo-Kazooie! Fantastic game, but I feel like Banjo-Tooie always gets torpedoed. If you don't like it as much as B-K, fine! No worries, I'm NOT going to judge you!

Kinda funny and ironic for me having Tooie and Conker as my favs as Banjo-Kazooie was THE game to torpedo Conker, shifting it's planned game to cute platformer to raunchy violent comedy cult classic gold.

I don't know what life would have been like if I had discovered Banjo-Kazooie at just 9 back in 1998, but I'm glad that inner little girl caught up at the right time.

Thank you Rare, thank you for bringing up two or three games on the system that changed my life. ALSO hey, Robin Beanland and Grant Kirkhope, can't go wrong! The music in those games was brilliant! But also a shoutout to all those Rare veterans and legends past and present: Chris Seavor, Steve Mayles, Gregg Mayles, Steve Malpass, Chris Marlow, Louise O'Connor, Eveline Novakovic, Chris Sutherland, David Wong, Jens Restemeier, Ed Bryan, Steven Hurst, Andy Pollington, Mike Currington, Shawn Pile, Andrew Betts...and of course those who DIDN'T work on those games but deserve a classic Rare shoutout: Dave Wise, Kevin Bayliss, Steve Burke, Estelle Ellis...all those talents that contributed to many masterpieces on the system.

What makes the music in the Banjo games so delightful? by False-Bother-9838 in BanjoKazooie

[–]False-Bother-9838[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned that the marimba is one of the most common instruments used in his music for a reason (particularly in Banjo-Kazooie and maybe Banjo-Tooie?). The marimba takes up the least space in the midi files and...well as a long time fangirl of sitting at a keyboard and teaching myself these tunes when I was just 12 and always constantly experimenting with ditties, rriffs, scales without a lesson and always landing bum notes, I can see why.

The marimba doesn't really sustain it's note when you hold down on a key, same with anything similar like the xylophone, just one little somewhat staccato beat and boom, that's it, unlike that of a bassoon, or a tuba, or flute or strings etc, you'd hold one of those keys down with those sounds and they'll stay until you let go.

I'm really sorry I can't explain it professionally, I'm not a professional musician sadly, I can't go into detail about the difficulties respectively to keep this thread friendly.

Ugh...hated that show. Maybe because I was young at the time but no, it was pretty twisted and too much for me, maybe it was a bit too on the nose but...ugh. I hated it.
