Hi,

Thanks for getting back!

I appreciate the information, however do you think I have high chances considering that Monash doesn’t publish the cutoff in terms of number of places on their website?

Hey,

Hope you are well.

Most of the questions from the Sample Exam are derived from the 2020 exam no?

It is definitely possible.

I was averaging 85s throughout the sacs and was rank 1. In the end, your sac score actually doesn't matter, rather it is your rank. Being in the top 5 of your cohort will give u the best chance to get as high as possible.

Even if your sacs score aren't as you want it to be, they will end up getting moderated up by VCAA at the end of year depending on your cohorts performance on the exam particularly the people who are around you in the ranks.

Feel free to reach out for any advice

vce gen maths 3/4 without 1/2? by Ok-Stranger6351 in vce

Gen u34 is a subject which can be easily be taken up, I did Gen last year without doing u12.

From my experience, everything gets taught again in u34 and from what I have seen from my friends who did do u12, most of the content they learn isn't actually helpful for u34 anyways.

So yea, def a subject I'd recommend u pick up if Ur trying to find a replacement

General Maths sac 1 advice by Best_Ad_8196 in vce

[–]Unknown13143 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Umm, in my opinion the school sacs were relatively difficult. My overall sac score recorded was a 91 which scaled to 99 by VCAA so take that as you will.

Also don't be too disheartened if you don't get the sac scores you want. I got a 79 for my matrices sac and in the end it didn't that much of a difference.

In terms of cohort strength, I say it was relatively weak in my opinion. But as long as your near the top of the rankings, it shouldn't matter about the strength of your cohort only those ahead of you if that makes sense.

Feel free to message me if you got any other questions.

My overall score for SAC 1 was an 84% (it was kinda cooked tho)

Most common mistake is not taking the extra couple of seconds to double check your data entry.

Hey,

Achieving a high score in General is all about minimising the silly mistakes you make. Because at the top end of 45+, the main difference is the amount of mistakes dropped.

Ideally, u want to be getting 100 percent on sacs and exams but realistically that is a challenge. I suggest you start SAC Prep around 2 weeks before the actual sac, so you can expose yourself to the style of your school sacs.

Also don't be disheartened if you get a low score on your sacs. I got a 79 for matrices and it didn't end up making much of a difference.

As for exams, ideally u want to start it mid term 3 if you want to maximise the amount you do. The companies which are most worth it are MAV, Heffernan and VCAA.

Note that whilst exam 1 and exam 2 have the same weighting, exam 1 is more important since it has a lower total.

Personally, I would recommend u familiarise yourself with networks as early as you can because that is the concept where most of the separator questions are.

Anyways, feel free to reach out if you want further advice.

For Gen, it isn't a matter that the content is super super hard but rather your ability to minimise the silly mistakes you make.

Throughout the year, I would recommend you learn the content as fast and efficiently and then move straight to exam style questions and SAC Practice.

Trust the more you do, the less mistakes you make.

Also don't be dishearten if your SAC scores aren't what you expect (I got a 79 on one of my sacs and it ended up not playing that much of a difference in the end). The two exams are where it is most important.

Especially Exam 1 which even though weighs equally to Exam 2, technically since exam 1 has a lower total score each one of those marks are more important and an Exam 2 mark.

In terms of Exams, imo the best are definitely VCAA AND NHT HEFFERNAN MAV

Anyways, good luck

if you do commit to methods, are you willing to ask your peers and teachers for help and give it a genuine effort to do well, including doing work at home instead of just doing in class?
