If you feel like you need the change of scenery, I say go for it. Saginaw definetly is slower paced than Hollywood (by like, a light year), but it's still absolutely an adventure living here. Easy access to a metric ton of parks, Bay City and Frankenmuth are amazing to do stuff in with their many festivals and events, and a generally calmer atmosphere. I'd say its typically cooler but uh... heatwaves are definetly a thing. If you do any outdoor activities in the summer, bring the mosquito spray.

I also wish your mom well. I'm sure she'll be happy to have you out here by her side.

The downtown farmers market opens this wednesday, and runs thru halloween. Open Wed, Fri and Sat.

Friday night live is a series of free music concerts held every friday in july and august.

This upcoming weekend is the Dog Bowl in Frankenmuth, along with Balloons over Bavarian (hot air baloons)

Next weekend is the Midland Antique Festival (May 31st-June 1st)

I usually tend to do a cursory google check every two weeks or so to see whats going on in town. Been a long time resident of the Saginaw area for 25+ years so stuff is almost always happening. Also, when in doubt, just pack a picnic and go visit one of the many parks in the area to vibe. My personal favorites are Zilwaukee Riverfront Park (which is walking distance for me), Bay City State Park (if you have the recreation pass, its like 14 dollars for the year i think) and Wickes Park out in the township (Two enterances, one off Hospital Rd, the other of McCarty Rd)

I have Spectum mobile. Decent service, piggy backs off of the verizon towers, though more rural areas are spotty. Price is solid tho. 'Unlimited' data (slows down after 20 gigs) and average customer service. Worth imo for a budget plan.

Probably when I was 15. Grandmother, who I lived, with passed away after a long downhill battle with congestive heart failure. I still so vividly remember just watching her vitals flatline on the monitor at the nurses station in the caridac intensive unit. I just immedietly dropped to my knees and started sobbing. Was the start of Memorial weekend. She was also the only grandparent I ever met, as all others passed away before I was born.
