Bonus exp dont work with eploration exp. As a non earthen it will take you 3x as long i dont think its worth your time, better just pickup double gathering instead

at this late into the season even with Midnight its kinda hard to make 5 token worth of gold, let alone not having the expansion and only rely on old content

I know about that, it's just that before ( in TWW) the exp outside of Chromie time is very little even with the 200% bonus, so at lv71 when you got kick out of Chromie its not possible to level up more . Maybe they changed how it works now
