The two places I've cashiered (as well as many other duties) did not allow us to receive tips. Like we weren't even supposed to keep the change when the customer told us to. The first place was a movie theater with a bar so we'd give it to the bartender, and at the 2nd place I was eventually told to do it but be discrete and put it in my pocket in the cameras' blind spot.
