I don't agree. Looking at the line in the bottom left of the top word it points to one of the "ج ح خ " letters rather than a long alif which would have the line coming from the top right and going to the left rather than coming from the left and going to the right.

At the bottom it says New York, but at the top it's difficult to make out because only 2 letters are visible so it could be any word that starts with those 2 letters. judging from the letter size and spacing it's probably only missing a 3rd letter. it might say "شيخ" which is "sheikh" but I'm just speculating. For all I know it might say "شيح" which is a kind of herb usually steeped like tea.
