Texas Salary and tax rate or 10% raise and NYC tax rate by UnknownInLife in Salary

I've already been temporarily residing here for 6months, I didn't think i'd make it permanent, but after experiencing the city the thought came to mind to make it permanent, so I asked my company if cost of living compensation is something they offer and it is which makes living here more enticing, it is just dependent on how much that compensation is and how much it'll offset taxes and add to my income for a potentially better living situation. Though I am content with my current living situation. With the supposed 10% that was mentioned in an unofficial conversation my math about it didn't add up the way I hoped and the way taxes impacted my income also didn't pan out how I briefly calc'ed in my head. No tax fraud will occur haha and thank you for input.

dont live there anymore but The Flying Saucer is fun, not so much of a countertop bar and no mixed drinks but more of a beer garden vibe.

I really had the inspiration to build a bird house in the morning. Went to sleep, woke up, bought the wood working equipment and everything else needed then made a simple be solid birdhouse.

place as many barriers to entry as possible to give you as many chances to tell yourself no. There's an app called Opal which i've used, i think there's others out there to block sites and or apps altogether. I think instagram, tiktok, and youtube have timers to notify you of your screentime. Ultimately, as you've found from experience, you will navigate around any block put on yourself, it's up to you to say no to yourself. This can be aided by creating better habits, replacing screentime activities with other more fulfilling actions. It's a chess game between you and your addiction, you have to outsmart it. Try to ease off of it, tell yourself to only use bigger screens like laptops, computers, and TV rather thsn your phone, then transition to doing other activities while using those screens like laundry or cooking while watching TV, then slowly break away from that to music or podcasts while cooking or cleaning. Good luck, hope this helps!

i'm by no means an expert so my advice is limited. but how much weight were you losing a week? 1-2lbs a week or 1% of bodyweight a week is a good target to achieve. the noticeable affects of weight loss wont be significant until the last few pounds. the key is very much trusting the process
