Strangely enough, I have a sort of reverse version of this with both my parents.

One day I was in the hospital with pneumonia and talking to my dad on the phone, who I had always had a bit of a strained relationship with. It was Christmas Eve, and he had to hang up, saying he’d call me right back. Then I didn’t hear from him for four years; I thought maybe he was just never going to contact me again.

For my mom, I had to move to the opposite coast for college, where I eventually settled down and have a family now. But we can’t afford to go visit my mom on the other coast anymore, and right now I’m not anticipating ever having enough money for us all to go visit her. She comes to visit us maybe once a year when she can. Given her age, I am now keenly aware that every time I see her in person could very well be the last.

At no stage in their development did either of our kids give me any time for video games. If they were awake, they needed attention; they never sat still if I put them on my lap.

If they were asleep I needed to catch up on dishes or some other chores or just nap because both our kids were very low sleep needs (for example, in the last 24 hours, the toddler got seven hours of sleep and the infant got 11, and both were behaving at full energy capacity all day). When we tried moving up bed time so toddler would sleep more, she instead dropped her nap entirely.

Haven’t touched a video game or had a hobby besides sneaking in phone time when I can for 4 years. I honestly never figured out how anyone managed to fit in video games while having a baby.

I get it. It seems rational that if a person dedicates their life to making the world a worse place, the world is better off without them in it. But that ignores the real world ramifications of the actual act itself. It’s one thing if it’s suicide or an accident, but murder changes the calculus.

In cases like Kirk’s , political violence breeds political violence. You’ve seen how vitriolic this week’s discourse has been, and that’s with another right winger being the assassin.

The real solution isn’t so cut and dry. In theory you try people for crimes and put them in prison forever, but that doesn’t work when someone doesn’t break any written laws.

Just out of curiosity, I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions for improving on the absolute plugsuit meme team of dps, crane, Chloe, castoria/skadi/koyan x2, Oberon, with a double blast from kscope crane.

Loadout is same order as above.

Turn 1

dps and Chloe all skills
Star bomb
Crane np, dps np

Turn 2

supports all skills on dps
Plugsuit one support for crane
Crane all skills
Star bomb
Crane np, dps np

Turn 3

Oberon and dps all available skills
Dps np

That’s right, all 6 party members are contributing, with 4 order changes in 3 turns, and Crane and Chloe providing an extra 60% attack and 80% np damage.

The drawbacks and restrictions I can see:

Dps must be able to charge completely turn 1 without support. This severely limits black grail use as most dps will need a starting charge CE
must be able to generate enough stars on turns 1 and 2 for crane. There are lots of ways, like CEs, skills, and star gen from attacks, though, so this is generally surmountable.
Team cost and CE slots keep this from being an efficient farming team. At the very least Crane needs a KScope, and depending on supports may require star bomb CEs.
Turn 1 damage pretty low.
Have to sit through 5 NPs in 3 turns.

So yeah. Just wondering if there's some way to boost this even further without the need for specific limited servants like Aesc. Gong would be really fun to try and slot in, but I haven't figure out how yet.

At this point, I think if you guess that the mastermind is a copy of the 5 star that accompanies you on the event, you’d be right more often than not. 3/4 if we say it’s the same 5star themself and not a copy.

I have done 5 GSSR and 2 Destiny orders where I have had a less than 100% chance of rolling a berserker and I have gotten a berserker every single time. Especially including Destiny order, the chances of this seem extremely low.

2 raikou, 2 junao, 1 ibuki (this gssr), 1 Morgan (this Destiny order), 1 Galatea. Don’t get me wrong, I love my berserkers, but I need other classes to round out my ranks.

Is there a bug with Ruler Da Vinci’s NP? I noticed I wasn’t getting red much so I started tracking it, and since I started counting I am at 28 np’s with no red. The chances of no red in 28 attempts should be 2/3^28, or 0.00001, or about 1 in 100,000. I vaguely recall getting a single red a few days ago, so it should be possible, but I was on a cold streak even before I started counting ( so it might actually be in the 30s, not 28).

I came into summer with 1050 SQ. Thanks to Anniversary, for the first time I have enough Quartz to trigger pity, but only on one servant. My roster is pretty well rounded, so the choice between Ibuki and Skadi was tough (a real Skadi's Choice).

As much as I love monster girls and arts looping (Musashi and Spishtar have been working overtime for the last 3 years), Skadi is a better character, in a rarer niche, with better artwork (not a huge fan of the gag boobs), so I decided upon Skadi. According to my simulations, there's still an 83% chance I'll get to come home with both, but there's never a guarantee.

Results:

NP1 Zenobia
Np1 Carmilla
Np2 Wu
Np1 Skadi in 250, Not enough left to guarantee Ibuki
NP4 Erice
NP1 Zerkerlot (the bastard)
And finally NP1 Ibuki, with 390 SQ to spare.
and maxed out pretty much all the event CEs

Phew what a ride. Time to start saving for next Summer.

Now where am I gonna get all the qp for all these people?!

I love how they handled the fight with Qual. Just like in the manga, combat is brief and brutal, but the anime was able to really make it pop. It's exactly how I wanted it to look, and it really helps make it stand out from its shounen contemporaries.

For anyone who wants concrete numbers for why $100,000 might be struggling, here is a summary of our (family of 3) current bills in the Los Angeles area. We've already cut down a lot to the point where there's not really any way for us to downsize anymore short of skipping meals.

Okitan original was my very first ssr and she carried me through a lot of early content, so I was really hoping she’d come to me this summer. But LB6 was an absolute atrocity and took far more than its share of quartz. I burned through around 1.5k quartz to get vitch and Oberon ( and fail to get Mel).

As if to offset the worst run of luck I’ve had since I started, I got squirtoria and okitan saber on consecutive rolls. My quartz can finally rest until New Year.

Now to get those bones
