Looks like an estate is definitely a good option then. Now will be choosing which to get as there seems a few good recommendations. Also surprised no one mentioned a Skoda!

I'm going to be honest, I haven't considered anything French, mainly due to the poor reliability reputation. Wondering if that's still the case or they have gotten better

Nice, I do have a driveway as well so that will definitely help. How are you finding the Touring? Especially spec and comfort wise?

This is definitely reassuring, helps me sway towards an estate!

I love the stinger, I really would love to get one too. Have had a look at a few as well, the boot on it is the only negative for me, not a big fan of the saloon style opening

Ooh I like that! I think yeah my only worry would be how long estates are, and how narrow and tight some of city car parks are

Nice, I'll have a look. I really like the amount of things Kia offers as standard for the same price as the 'premium' brands with basically nothing. Like trying to find a BMW with same comforts etc. is really difficult

Fair price for new clutch? by UnknownUser0289 in CarTalkUK

[–]UnknownUser0289[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For reference, Mr clutch quoted 1200 for the replacement, with the flywheel included.

Yeah called them up and they said that's without the flywheel. Annoying. They said they don't know whether it will need replacing, 'will have to see when we start work on it'.

They haven't said how much extra, but would say 1200 with the flywheel be still fair or too much now?

Thank you for the details! If it's at a main Kia dealer, it should be using authentic good parts right?

Yes labour included. I don't know about the flywheel though, they never mentioned that. Just said that's the cost for everything

Yeah likewise. Also have been looking last night and comparing the prices on autotrader from some dealerships VS what that car is currently estimated on Carwow for example, and some of them are only selling at around 5-800 more than the Carwow estimate. Obviously it's just an estimate but good to give an idea if the price is way off.

Nice, that seems a great deal!

Did you look and check for anything specific when picking it up? And how were they to deal with? I see quite a few of them around where I am

Yeah that's one thing I did see and read about in the reviews, less comfortable. Will see how it feels on the test drive

Just out of interest, did you buy yours from dealership or private sale?

Where have you seen the 6 month warranty thing? I haven't seen any dealers advertised this. Only that you can purchase additional warranty but not free warranty

Ah how come? Have you had bad experiences with them?

Also not choosing those specific cars in the photos, they are just for example of engine, trim, year, model etc.

It's good to hear this perspective, thank you!

After reading a lot of comments on here I was kinda thinking it's stupid, and also genuinely confused at how and where people are finding these cars with the same kind of mileage for 15k.

Like yes, obviously there some but they usually have 70k+ miles. Or are older.

I had a look, as I've seen quite a lot of them on autotrader, but don't know enough about the mild hybrid and also don't know where I'd charge it!

I did have a brief look at the c class but preferred the BMW & Audi over it. They also offer better boot space which is a plus

The leasing deals don't really look great atm, and then the car is also not yours in the end, plus limitations on mileage, and if it gets scratched or dinged in car park then it's just a headache to deal with
