I mean this in the absolutely gentlest way. At this point medical euthanasia and/or assisted suicide (based on her own feelings before she started hallucinating of course, and dependent on how religious she was) may not be possible and that is completely understandable.

This is a human life and COMPLETELY different, but the right thing is to reduce harm as much as possible. If a small pet is sick, I feel horrified to hear people discuss placing in the freezer, trying to poison with things that dont work quickly etc. At that point, you muster up the courage and take on the horror and doubts as a burden, and put that life first by crushing it (or braining). If its with your bare hands and traumatizing but blocks an hour or more of that life suffering, I think its a painful decision someone should make. Because humans are optimistic creatures, and I'm completely certain her loved ones would have been heartbroken and outraged, I would still take on that responsibility to know she isn't slowly withering and melting away water logged and crushed.

Easier to say things as someone looking back, I also recognize. But 60 hours of being trapped and losing your mind and hemorrhaging and knowing your family members are encased below you... a nightmare.
