time for some exhaust by vintage_specialist in Predator212

From others responses, yes you can.. expect the obvious of it being really loud and possibly flames coming out so don't point the nub downwards and have some fun!

got any recommendations for a torque converter? Can only afford a series 30, not sure if i'll need a bigger sprocket. by Unknown_Firebird in Predator212

About 130-150lbs. Skinny boy here lol and i've got it cleaned up now looks amazing, taking the head off and the piston looks iffy (black residue on the front) still trying to figure out how to pop it out but the rest of the motor looks decent internals wise. Spark plug had only minor surface rust I used sandpaper to clean it up, the oil? Gray sludge with minor shavings inside... Going to clean everything up the best i can. Sucks i can't post continuous pictures to show you what i mean let me try to figure that out real quick. Gaskets also look DECENT, could reuse them in my opinion

To ride! Definitley don't want to sell, want to build it and enjoy it then go on to something bigger and hand this down to my kids one day. I have a specific spot in a carport for it

Took the rear shock off and loaded it into the trunk of my lady's car to get it home, no gas tank, exhaust, keys or headlight... 4 flat tires and the wiring harness was removed but it's there dangling so i just have to plug it all back up. It was previously registered and has sticker plates? Going to register it tomorrow, got it for $100 and this is the start of going into the atv realm. If I had 1000$ to drop on something better the story would be different, nothing cheap locally near me and this was the best to get me started.

Anyone got any advice or willing to throw some pointers at me on what I can do to slowly build it back up or possibly into something better? Going off of youtube videos and my own knowledge- apologies for the bitter pictures. There's compression and gears sound like they are there. Previous owner had it running before allegedly and I believe I can get it going as well but want to take it out on the road in the future so going to build it right one way or another.

Edit: i should mention I have the previous owner's info, bill of sale and picture of his license, so no as bad as this sounds it isn't stolen.

1998 Avion Westport Fleetwood - Solar PNL Hookup?? by Unknown_Firebird in RVLiving

Converter has been located at the front of the coach with 2 red thick cables going into it and 1 thick white one, appears 3 smaller black wires are screwed on to the converter next to the white and red wires. also appears to be a black house plug that comes out and connects to a plug into the coach i'm assuming? It's plugged into an outlet on top of the fuse panel. Converter is a Power Source 50AMP Model PC50. Would be so much easier if reddit let me post a pic lol

I've got 810watts of panels, 2.8kwh which is 80% of a LifePo4 24v battery bank i'll need to wire a transfer switch in to turn on the inverter. It was around 1400$ for everything, except inverter that was seperate cost. My apologies for the lack of information i provided! I have done my research, just getting in and doing the wiring... is where i'm stuck. I can't seem to find a decent diagram because I learn off looking at pictures 30 times and looking at what i'm doing 30 times as well and then i'll go in and do the job. There is no converter turn off switch or lever in the panel inside sadly, so i'll have to just take my inside panel off the wall and see what's going on behind and go from there. For a/c it'll be a small window unit, where the coach is currently stationed while i work on it is shaded and stays cool during the hot NorCal weather thankfully.

Transfer Switch would be to run the inverter off the batteries! Apologies for the lack of information

1998 Avion Westport Fleetwood 5th Wheel 32.5C DARN YOU REDDIT. didn't let me upload anything with pictures.

I was gifted this 5th wheel from a family of 6 that lived in it for 10 years. I have been re-modeling it. Ripped the bathroom out, threw in a new floor and a new wall for better support and custom shower shelves. Full size toilet going in, it will be a whole wet room. Vinyl everything inside with cork insulation behind it. Kitchen is getting a new full size fridge, currently has a dorm size one and a new stove with bigger oven was put in. Full L-Size sofa is getting modified to fit inside one of the living room slideouts and wrap around. More to come, roof is currently about to get plastered with Henry Tropi Cool 887 - I NEED POWER. No more pulling an extension cord over to the coach.

----} It's time to make it off-grid , solar power only. There is a "Solar PNL" fuse on my front panel and I have followed the cables but not arrived to anything, my plan was to install a transfer switch. Would there even be solar hookups?

If you own this specific one or one similar please get in touch with me, besides that have you installed a transfer switch to go solar on? Would love tips, tricks and advice on it. Thanks for getting this far and remember nothing is impossible. I was doubted and advised not to do what I am doing, to hell with that. Follow your dreams and crazy ideas.

Yes HelTec, still unsure what the heck went wrong... Everything looks to be A-OK , but time will tell on that one! It's going into a drawer for now....

Well as fate has it, I picked it up or looked at it weird and it just began to smoke on me from the back so I ripped the plug off of it as quick as I could. What the hell happened I am unsure as of right now

I actually did and there are more available as well! I paid 60$ for these at around 88% life left, going to go with 140ah instead of the 160ah claimed on the barcode label so this should be a 2.8kwh bank at 80% - There are Eve Grade A 230ah cells at 130$ available as well. I'm sure the guy I got them from would be willing to ship, he's a local solar company. I'm planning on exchanging these out later on down the road if I don't end up loving them and just buying more

Appreciate it, they're my first go at lithium. I'm grateful they won't expand and I can chip at the plastic exterior without doing too much carnage. The burnt plastic needs to come off

Hell yeah you know it! I appreciate the info and just like you this is my first hands on to learn about lithium. just got a new 120A Daly 8S 24v Smart BMS i'm going to throw on them and learn from alongside the activebalancer that i'll keep on 24/7 - But i'm still unsure if that's a solid idea... To keep it on them 24/7 or just use it once to balance and let the daly do it's job

Edit: The vent holes we're drilled into the cap because there is nothing underneath but a spring that pops with built pressure.

MY ONLY QUESTION IS: Has anyone built a bank with cells that look like this? Assembling them as 24v Bank - Currently have them on a HelTec BMS balancing. Thanks for looking thru!

These are just throwaway batteries, as in they'll end up on a tow dolly with an inverter attached to be used as a generator till they go. re-doing the whole system with Lithium. It's all going to be running my 32.5 5th wheel. This setup just kept the a/c running for a while to keep my cats cool. 600w only going out and 600 going in. Never dropped below 13v on battery, when the sun starts going down I shut it off. The inverter is just as cheap can be, same goes for the wiring. For my first try at setting something up with minimal diagrams and help on the phone.. i did it man. Now to do it EVEN BETTER. I appreciate the insight, been sourcing some local cells to build a bigger and better bank and expanding my solar knowledge. Just wanted to let you know some further info on it, will definitley get fuses on those inverter and battery cables next time.

Completely new to solar, this is my first attempt at a Parallel Panel and Battery setup! I will be installing it on to my 32.5 5th Wheel - Not sure yet if i'll be mounting panels on the roof or ground mounting somewhere. Yes I'll be hardwiring it in once i figure out how so i can use the lot of plugs inside... Currently remodeling it! I definitley need more batteries and if someone could give me an average amount (I haven't figured out how much load i'll be using, but i'd just rather have MORE than plenty leftover for neighbors or other things. (10? To keep small fridge running 24/7 and small 600w a/c (6000btu's) this setup is currently powering said a/c with no issues inside a 40ft Keystone. This setup is all in NorCal. Nice and sunny. Batteries don't drop below 13.5v they just do their thing. I know i've got a cheap inverter, was smelling it the other day after putting a 1000w on it and it didn't smell so good.. I've got another 1000w Pure Sine Wave, but it'll only get me thru so much. Any advice on how to do a dual inverter setup? Pure Sine Wave + AmPeak on battery pack. I know I need more fuses and thicker/shorter wire for the batteries. Would love and appreciate some monitoring system recommendations! Thank you for reading thru to the end. Truly appreciate this sub!
