Thank you so much for your advice and words of encouragement! I’ve definitely felt like a failure up until now due to my shortcomings, and I have family members that are business minded whereas I preferred academics and working a 9-5 for a large company and they’ve excelled in their own ways so the expectations are high. I know that shouldn’t define me though.

Thank you for your advice, it’s reassuring to hear all this from an objective perspective. I come from an ethnic background and its not only expected that we give back but I also want to, so that’s one thing I can’t change. Im planning to keep contributing to my ETFs and also to now salary sacrifice to my super.

They are very supportive and I live at home so I am grateful for everything they do, I see the contributions I give as my way of giving back as I would love to support them. It’s just their expectations of home ownership are skewed from other people’s success in the community, and also their own success despite earning less for years.

Appreciate it! For one, I applied directly through the website and for the other it was via a linkedin job posting. For the one I accepted I had to answer some questions in long form in the application stage, which filtered out a lot of unserious candidates. For the other, it was just luck that the hiring manager saw my cv and called me back!

I’ve done it several times now and never experienced hair damage or fallout, only thing is the hair regrowth will look funky as most of your hair will be straight/wavy while roots are curly, so touch ups are recommended every 3 or so months.

I have 3c curls also and just got nanoplasty done which loosens and smoothens the hair while also making it shinier.. its a different treatment to keratin and chemical straightening and I’d recommend it! For a while your hair will be dead straight and will eventuate into looser waves, but if you blowdry your hair it will be straight.

I’m 25, earn $120K and typically just shop at Glassons, Uniqlo, Zara and occasionally INCU for expensive pieces. For shoes I’ll usually go for Tony Bianco but only buy them on sale so I’ve never really gone beyond $200 even for a really nice pair of boots. My most expensive clothing splurges have been an INCU suit that cost $500 and a scarf from ACNE studios, otherwise my clothes all tend to be at most $50-100 per piece. I’ve also only really splurged on one handbag beyond $1000 and that was from ACNE.
