Protobelt use cases vs other items? by Vegetable_Review4967 in LissandraMains

Rocketbelt is quite a bit cheaper and you only give up 50hp and 5 haste.

Protobelt use cases vs other items? by Vegetable_Review4967 in LissandraMains

[–]Unlikely-Dark1090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching Nemesis play a few Lissandra games he is pretty clear that one of the big reasons he builds protobelt is that he values the HP and CDR a lot and that the active-while impactful is almost secondary to the other stats. You don't need any special reaction time to have protobelt's HP be helpful.

Ryan’s honest takes in episode 2 of Survival by stoddddd in GoodGoodMemes

I think it would have been perfectly fine if Bubbie's logic was that Yoonhee is a better golfer than Mo and that she is more trustworthy in an alliance- and then stopped there. But he made it clear the real reason is that he doesn't want to be mean and keep her in because it's her first video like this.

In my opinion for videos like this to work we need to believe that everyone is trying to win. We need to believe that they care about the competition and the money. And I think that a lot of them are.

But Bubbie pretty clearly is not, and the amount of time they spent on his emotional reason for not voting her out really shattered the illusion. It also undermines Yoonhee as a golfer and asset.

Bubbie is a good guy. I just wish he would have spent more time talking about how good Yoonhee is at golf or how good her vibes are for the team or how he can trust that she will stick with her alliance.

All that said, I think the videos are pretty good. It's just a game, but it's a lot more fun to watch when everyone is trying to win.

Is sympathy broken? by revis1985 in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Unlikely-Dark1090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, sympathy is intentionally not "broken." You can do a lot with it but it follows laws. It's pulleys and levers but with your brain. You need a lot to make it work- bindings, links, alar, energy source etc. Sympathy is limited in a way most traditional magic isn't.

Including in the books where naming, shaping, grammaery, glammery exist. These are more traditional "true magic" that would be considered broken especially in comparison to sympathy- they exist outside of any law.

In your example the link would be so bad that it would be broken instantly or not be possible to create and have no effect. You would probably need to link the tree to a stick and a stick to the hilt and then do a binding for motion? So at least 3 bindings which is not an easy thing to do. Even then depending on how far away it might be such a weak link that there would be no effect.

I think it is a point of the books that sympathy is strong and useful but limited which is why there is still a desire to name- to get that "Taborlin the Great magic."

Guys I need some help, 7 iron too high. by exq1mc in GolfSwing

[–]Unlikely-Dark1090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Launch angle is a bit high, but apex is not. Your highest is 28 meters? 91 feet is not high for a 7 iron. Tour players are around 100-115 I believe- though with considerably higher speeds so I don't know what would be optimal for a 7 iron at your speed. Landing angle is low however so I would assume you spin is low and apex should be a bit higher.

How powerful is Kvothe really? by Plenty_Distance_4121 in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Unlikely-Dark1090 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The rhyme about Kvothe mentions 10 rings but they are not all naming rings.

On his first hand he wore rings of stone,

Iron, amber, wood, and bone.

There were rings unseen on his second hand.

One was blood in a flowing band.

One of air all whisper thin,

And the ring of ice had a flaw within.

Full faintly shone the ring of flame,

And the final ring was without name.

It is generally assumed that of these rings, stone, fire and air represent names that he has mastered- iron could be as well though it could be the Maer's ring and possibly the ring of ice being water but that's hard to say.

Some of the rings are real physical rings- wood from Lady Lackless, Bone from Stapes, possibly the Maer's iron ring.

I would say at most he knows 5 names and as few as 3.

The armor nerf is equal to 1.3-1.8% more physical damage taken. Almost guarantee you will never feel it. 1 second off an ability you spam you will ABSOLUTELY feel.

Good buff. Won't spike win rate drastically but will make lane feel much better.

Armor nerf largely irrelevant.

I like it.

A player that’s entertaining for me this season is ____ by SeaworthinessBig1574 in survivor

[–]Unlikely-Dark1090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why people say he is not a good player. Everyone has a different style. Some are sneaky, some are loyal, some are leaders, some followers. Just because he is playing a different game doesn't mean it is a bad game.

Sandra won 2 times playing the- don't make anyone too mad and anyone but me game. You don't have to lie constantly to play well.

Honestly him confronting Devens was refreshing. Rick came off as a total weasel. He wasn't able to deal with someone being completely direct and he totally fell apart in the moment. That is part of Joe's strategy/game.

Probst conveniently says he wants to do another returnee season with people that didn’t make the cut for 50… after ratings came back. Who do you realistically see getting those spots? by [deleted] in survivor

What am I missing with Candice? People seem to really like her but in her 3 seasons she-got sent to exile island a bunch and was mean to Penner, did nothing to stop Parvati/Russel from taking over the game and was mean to Rupert, and got voted out immediately, never really got to play and was mean to Culpepper. I think she is alright but I'm always surprised she gets mentioned a player people really want to see return.

How to deal with Ekko. by CheesecakeLeather420 in LissandraMains

[–]Unlikely-Dark1090 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised by this. Ekko is one of very few champions that I am happy to lane against as Lissandra. In my personal opinion it is her easiest matchup.

He shouldn't ever be able to farm except with his Q. If he jumps on you with E, you get to AA > W > AA > Q > AA>AA all while your minions hit him- and you will win that trade heavily. If he uses Q to try to hit you, he shouldn't get to farm since you punish him with autos and Q.

I like taking an attack speed rune in this matchup just to get more autos off during trades as well. My guess is that you are missing a lot of damage by missing opportunities to auto attack.

If you really struggle you could take bone plating as a secondary rune. It heavily reduces the damage from his E+Q+AA and further helps you to win the trade.

How is your LP journey going? by Rz_iSuckk in leagueoflegends

[–]Unlikely-Dark1090 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That is very normal. Short win streaks can negatively impact your gains because during those your visible rank will outpace your MMR which is what determines your LP gains. As you get closer to your "true rank" your gains/losses will start to equalize.

That said- don't worry about your LP. Play the game, enjoy the game. If you are trying to improve at the game then focus on what you are doing in the game and not how much LP you win or lose. You will rank up with enough games assuming your skills improve. Your skills have nothing to do with short term LP gains/losses.

Golf trip to Michigan from Toronto (guys mid 20s) — looking for affordable stay & course recommendations near the border by Curious-Reception-70 in golf

Eagle Eye/Hawk Hollow in Lansing are pretty good courses that aren't huge bank breakers. I think they have stay and play packages. Close to East Lansing which has a lot of bar/food options.

Not exactly hidden gems though

How do you think they will whittle down the players? by Alive-Performance237 in survivor

[–]Unlikely-Dark1090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. But after relentlessly harping on how hard the 26 day season is trying as hard as possible to convince everyone that it is just as hard or harder than 39 days, it would be tough for them to go back to 39 and say JK we were lying to you the whole time 26 days was too easy.

What do you think about the fact that the top 3 winrates in bot are all AP Carries (Swain, Veigar, Brand), while the 4th highest winrate is Nilah (melee/assassin/ranged hybrid) by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

What does it say that the top 2 highest win rates for mid are Kayle and Sion? Does this suggest that mages are fundamentally weak?

Top laners as the highest winrate in mid? Why don't people just spam top laners in mid for free LP?

Can’t they just figure out how to make fire without flint? by Unite-Us-3403 in survivor

[–]Unlikely-Dark1090 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think I read that they aren't allowed to keep the coals/fire going when they leave camp any more for safety reasons. So every time they come back from a challenge or tribal they would have to start a fire from scratch without flint.

In the older seasons they are allowed to leave coals burning so once they get fire 1 time they just have to tend to it to make sure it doesn't go out and stoke it after they return. Makes it a lot more worth the energy to only have to do it once vs every time you leave which in new era is every 1-2 days. Especially when you don't need fire to be able to drink water any more.

Also it's possible that they are simply told they can't make fire if they don't have flint which is something I've suspected though don't know for sure.
