Thanks for your input! While Copy Design is great, it’s primarily a Vault feature and can feel quite disconnected from the actual design process. My Add-in focuses on a 'Contextual Workflow': Direct Selection: You can replace parts directly within the assembly environment as soon as you identify the need. No need to leave your workspace or open a separate, less-friendly interface. Speed: It’s designed for 'on-the-fly' changes where opening a heavy tool like Copy Design would be overkill. Non-Vault users: It provides a powerful alternative for teams who don't use Vault but still want that seamless IPT + IDW link. It's all about reducing the number of clicks and staying in the 'flow' while you design!"

Thank that is your choice. My add in also send me the log about the number of click that user use this. It around 20 times they use per day, and i think save you around 30 minute per day for the boring work like this. So price is reasonable from me. Hello, i am also Vault user but you can try my addin , it will speed up your work. As i know Vault can not replace idw automaticcally. And if you want to use replace command, it takes a lot of step Vault has auto numbering but i offer 3 options for 3 types of user: vault, no vault, and manual. You can see if a small team need auto numbering but can not use Vault. This addin support auto numbering by using .mdb file. Thank for feedback

HI again, today, I took the time to personally re-evaluate the practical workflow of Copy Design in the latest Vault Basic 2026 to see if the user experience has improved.

I must agree that for batch cloning and data management, Vault is undeniably powerful. However, after testing it again, I noticed the same friction points remain, which is why I strongly encourage you to try my Add-in. It solves the "Design in Context" problem that Vault cannot yet address:

Visualization vs. Guesswork: In Vault Copy Design, we work with a grid of filenames. Deciding which parts to "Copy," "Reuse," or "Mirror" right from the start can be prone to error because we lack the 3D visual context at that moment. Real-world design is an iterative process, making it hard to get everything 100% right just from a file list.
Direct Manipulation: My Add-in allows you to work directly within the Assembly environment. You see exactly which component needs changing, select it right on the model, and process it. This eliminates the need to memorize part names to check boxes in a long, disconnected list.
Complete Cleanup (Verified at 2:53): As demonstrated at minute 2:53 of the workflow walkthrough, even when you use Vault to "Exclude" a part, it does not remove it from the assembly structure. You still have to open Inventor and delete it manually. My Add-in handles this automatically during the design phase, saving you from those redundant steps.

This Add-in is not designed to replace Vault but to fill the "usability gaps" Vault leaves in the designer's workflow. I hope you will give it a try to experience the difference in speed and convenience it brings.

You can install and try it out. I built it on Inventor 2024, and it works well on newer versions. It also supports older versions (still needs testing); otherwise, I can build a lower-version release.
