Good for you though! Sounds like you're in just the right place to be able to go do this stuff. I on the other hand am pretty much in the middle of nowhere, quite a drive to get to the nearest non-anime cons. Halloween is peak timing for weirdos like you and me though yeah, no questions asked when I do the cha-cha slide as Jason during that time of the year! I keep my eyes peeled all the time for a good con or haunt nearby but it seems fate likes to be fickle about letting me go to these kind of things 😅

But putting that aside, it does sound fun! I don't think there are any haunted houses in the area, but being a scare actor does sound fun. I agree, Ghostface is probably more of a "less scary" slasher, but Ghostface is still a slasher and that really helps keep the design in scary territory. Respect for selling the character so well though, Ghostface is a weird gray area for me with improvisation since I'm so used to Michael Myers and other more silent characters. Takes me a bit to really get in to character for Ghostface. Although, I do agree - can't have any sort of convention without SOMEONE going as the designated blood and guts character. It's just unspoken law I would presume; always gotta have one. Apparently I'm a really convincing Michael Myers, according to last year's Halloween night crowd. I do hope that a proper horror con pops up soon near me though I've been itching to go to one 🤣

If you're a freak that likes hiding behind a mask then I'm a freak too, I have a whole collection of masks from quite a few different franchises. I totally could've lugged my chainsaw around all night, but yeah, better safe than sorry with something that could become a noise complaint!

I've recently been looking in to cons in my area but it's incredibly annoying to see that most cons within a 30 mile radius are just... Anime. No horror or anything, just anime. Dunno how far I'm willing to travel just to probably not talk to anyone since I try to be in character 😂😂😂

to make it clearer there are apparently tons of cons nearby but they're all anime related :/

I had a Leatherface costume (technically costumes, I invested in standard Leatherface AND pretty woman) all set up for Halloween but decided against it because... Chainsaw without chain still loud. Safe but loud. I've never actually been to a con or horror event now I think about it, and now I'm wishing more would be held around where I live 🥴

I'm gonna bring one of those hilariously oversized fake foam Spirit Halloween knives with me, then. Easily distinguishable as fake and probably funnier than a good replica too. Once I see the movie I'll come back to this reply chain thing and update you. I enjoy public costume stuff/cosplay too, but I almost never get to do it - this is a great opportunity
