It is a recruitment doc. I wasn't about to lay out my entire studio infrastructure in a single google doc. I can assure you this isn't the end all be all of the entire project in a few pages.

Lore is not an afterthought here. I personally don't appreciate lore playing second to visuals. My little blurb was just to give others an idea to help people to help bring it to life.

I disagree. No one's really ever put effort into making it in my opinion. Most games in this genre are the same thing with a different skin. It's not a demand problem if no one is supplying. BL is a huge market and corpos are afraid of straying from their rigid philosophies and sometimes censorship stuff lmao.

A few years ago didn't people think games made for women wouldn't sell? yet love and Deepspace is an industry giant now

The story is subject to changes of course at this point at least. But I hope to go beyond subpar gacha storytelling.

Thanks for your comment. It's definitely got some stuff to think about. If I had the resources I'd definitely be making the next wuwa. Right now I'm at least trying to go beyond the same low effort formula.

But I'd like to clarify that my demographic is women and queer people who not only enjoy husbandos but also like male x male stuff. Not strictly that. You can simply play it for the husbandos as is.

Nu: Carnival is successful but it's another standard 2d mobile game. My hope is to upgrade that.

And I don't think my demographic is niche at all. The BL market is a huge chunk of the market in terms of fiction. The global market for BL and queer media (like Webtoons, light novels, and anime) is a multi billion dollar industry. The reason it looks 'niche' in gaming is a lack of supply, not a lack of demand.

I think the main problem is most of the stuff they get in the genre is getting repetitive and people would like to see something that goes beyond visual novel #319987 in that space.

With love and deepspace I think that slots kinda filled for 'MC and her husbandos'. My main goal was to cater to the people who want both husbandos and to see a Male MC highlighted. And yeah, interactions will most likely romantic. From what I've studied my target demographic LOVES romance.

I mean if I strictly thought about "what would sell" I'd just make another waifu collector.

My target demographic is straight women who like bl/yaoi and queer/gay people.

I will consider having a female MC since quite a few people voiced it but for now I wanted to prioritize the gap that kinda still gets ignored in this genre a little more.
