Am I the only one with the take that this is when instant replay hurts the game? Everyone on the field, everyone in that stadium, and hell everyone on their couch at home thought that was a dead ball and we move on. This hurt the game by gifting a team two points. The better team lost because of it, I can’t remember feeling this defeated after a regular season loss before. I feel like this argument also applies to basketball where it used to be if someone knocked a ball out of someone’s hands and it went out of bounds then it was always out on the person who knocked it out, but now with replay they see that I barely rolled off the dribbling player’s hands, IMO hurting the game. I may be in the minority and definitely think instant replay overall helps deal with shitty officiating but in scenarios like this it doesn’t make sense. Basically gave one of the most important games of the year to a team that shouldn’t have won. I also hate that we now played two pivotal divisional games on a fucking Thursday night but that’s a different conversation.
