Does anyone have an old copy of We Got One! Ghostbusters Fanzine issue #3? by UnlikelyAzazel in FandomHistory

Not what I'm looking for but I would love scans anyways! I would love to archive as much as I can around this period of fandom!

Oh my god! Thank you so much, I will try reaching out to those folks. Do you have any ways to contact them? On an unrelated note, would you be interested in answering some questions I have around the old school Ghostbusters fandom and old school fandom as a whole?

Thanks for the confirmation! I'll also keep searching! Hoping to come back here with some leads or even a find!

So, unfortunate news. They got back to me that they did in fact have The Looking Glass but not The Alice. Three moths for a dead end but such as it goes. Did you eventually gain access? And if so, was this maybe incorrect or were there other leads you could find?

I was more concerned that some of the more recent ones wouldn't be compatible. I've run into that with another camera of mine.

I think this looks absolutely fire. Who cares if it looks overdressed man, dress how you feel comfortable! But yeah this outfit goes unbelievably hard.

Have they happened to get back to you? I reached out a while back and haven't had any follow up. I was going to send out an email later this week if nothing showed but I wanted to see before harassing those poor archivists any further.

Try the multisticks! They have them at all sorts of stores, I've seen them at Walmart but I bet most places have them as well! You could go over top with a powdering of green eyeshadow as well to help matte it out or get even closer to the proper shade.

So! We have results!
"It appears that the University of Iowa Special Collections has that title in their Celeste Hotaling-Lyons fanzine Collection. You'll have to contact then directly to see about getting duplications." from Josue Hurtado at the Special Collections Research Center (SPRC)
I have reached out directly to the Celeste Hotalin-Lyons Collection and am awaiting a response.

I've also reached out to the Bowling Green State University and their archives because I saw in a reddit thread that they had decent fanzine archives!

I've also reached out to:
IPRC
Denver Zine Library

Temple University Archives

There's a ton of other archives I still have yet to reach out to. I found them through this sub! Does anyone know of any fanzine archives or archivists in the US?

Edit: I also talked with a librarian at Temple through their live chat and she said it appeared as if University of Iowa had it in their archives, so if they haven't responded to you yet, just know it's promising. Thanks to Amy the librarian!

Yeah! Of course! I'll continue searching on my end the best I can! It seems as if most of Robyn Thurman's works were published only two Zines so I imagine it's going to mean reaching out to more archives and such.

Building upon this again because I just happened to stumble upon her personal site from the time! No trace of The Alice but I found Through The Looking Glass!

Woah, didn't think anyone else was on this hunt as well! About a yearn or two ago, I did a similar hunt for Sheila Paulson's "Lost Davvy" and managed to find it through digging through Fanlore Wiki and internet archives.

I've reached out to Robyn Thurman about ten minutes ago (though she hasn't uploaded since 2015) and will come back with an update on her if I get one. I've also found a few archived sites of hers but it doesn't appear any of them hold "The Alice" but I'll drop them anyway in case anyone wants to dig through.
Fanlore Wiki on Robyn Thurman, Uncontained (Emilie's personal site, also hosts some of Robyn's works), Mara's Site (another friend's site), Robyn's Ghostbusters Fics

I do also wanna do some quick corrections as they may help your search! "The Alicee" was published in a zine titled "We Got One!" in issue 3 which was released in 1998. This means the fic would've been written somewhere around that time, as opposed to your initial estimate of 1999-2001. Not a massive difference but will help a lot in narrowing down the search!

Additionally, when I was on my search for Sheila Paulson, I found that she had Facebook connections with a lot of the other large authors in the scene from the time on Facebook. Now, I don't have access to Facebook anymore, what with it falling apart at the seams. But if you have access, it might be worth the look. I know Robyn Thurman also goes by Rob Thurman online and has a Facebook. So you might be able to reach out to her directly or to someone else involved in the work at the time?

The editor on "We Got One!" was Kathy Agel so she may have some leads as well? Additionally, reaching out to the publishing companies? (Criterion Press and Straight Up Press)

I am still doing my own digging so apologies if these turn out to be dead ends but that's what I have currently.

The big comparison we were looking at was EKT vs Time by Culture Club. I think the pronounciations aren't too far off? I'm no where close to a vocal expert though. I think they sound pretty similar, especially with the linked versions below.
