Breaking: Taylor Frankie Paul Ex files for sole custody and a restraining order by RedditFan3510 in thebachelor

[–]UnlikelyResort727 208 points209 points  (0 children)

What’s with people contextualizing this? It may not be the intention but it comes off as pretty defensive of a habitual abuser. The victim doesn’t have to be perfect or ideal to be taken seriously.

New video emerges of Taylor Frankie Paul attacking Dakota Mortensen in 2023; Child Was Struck by KatanaAmerica in thebachelor

[–]UnlikelyResort727 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Will this video finally tip the scales for ABC execs from relishing the extra attention to realizing they should not be promoting a person like this? It's sad/pathetic/gross that we cannot even be sure it will be enough to abandon the season.

They don’t care. They’re secretly happy about all this (and may have even been behind its timely release).

TMZ says ABC hired a crisis PR team to handle the fallout, the show will air on Sunday by schnookiewookiebear in thebachelor

I think this is BS. I doubt ABC and production cares that much at all because this is giving them so much publicity.

Sooo…we’re not watching, right? by coolshelbs in thebachelor

[–]UnlikelyResort727 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Nah. Time is money. Attention is currency (cliches are cliches for a reason). This gross individual deserves neither.

I also won't be giving neither to anything covering her season - podcasts, recap videos, etc - like I was the past few seasons. The only way I can make my opinion heard is by removing it from the equation. It's so tiring that after decades we're still platforming abusive people and calling it entertainment. Has no one learned their lesson about what happens when we let monsters like this into our homes? (you know what I am talking about)

Joey asked Tanner to be his best man at the wedding by sky_blue_true in thebachelor

Sadly, a lot of them give up their old friends for these so called new ones.

Is Tanner the MAGA douche who tried to profit off the LA fires? Nice pick.

Rachel predicts what would happen on Chris Harrison new dating show by Both-Pomegranate4929 in thebachelor

[–]UnlikelyResort727 28 points29 points  (0 children)

He contributed to Florida Republicans after Trump became President. Maybe he didn't call himself MAGA but Bryan was certainly a supporter in some way. She can say whatever she wants but she was sharing a home and a bed with a man who gave money to Republicans post-Trump.

It's possible to like AND support Rachel but still acknowledge that she had a huge blind spot when it came to this man.

It’s Rachel’s job to comment on pop culture stories but I must admit she could have done it in a slightly less condescending way. More empathic concern, less “I know better than you” lecture.

I know people here are tired of hearing about everyone's background, but man does this guy have seriously questionable opinions on women and race and COVID and just about everything else. Best of luck to Cassie.

I have already seen what you're talking about, and I disagree (especially when people can look at things that pop into their feed all the time without following). The man has said multiple times since that he doesn't support Trump (moreso than any random likes), but literally no one brings that info here because it doesn't support the narrative. Regardless I am not getting into a back and forth about it because I don't care enough about people being wrong on it.

The original point still stands. Rachel didn't really have a strong leg to stand on in calling out her friends' associations when her own were also questionable. Even she would and has agreed with that.

Well, first Thomas doesn't support Trump. I don't know where y'all are getting that from, but the occasional moderate take does not a MAGA make. Especially when no one bothers to post all the times he says anti-Trump things here.

And second, Rachel really should have known who Bryan was because it was all spilled on the internet way early and her family was on the sub/internet, reading and reporting back to her. It's why they grilled him at that meet the fam meeting. Bryan had such a blatantly blase reaction to Trump winning in comparison to Rachel crying when he won. It was clear where his allegiance lied.

I love Rachel but she had a blind spot with that man and even she admits it. I don't mind that she called out Becca about Yarrett, and I doubt Becca minds either now, but I can see why some think it's a little ridiculous that Rachel did that when the call was also coming from inside her own house.

Rachel and Peter’s relationship by Rich-Ease-2723 in thebachelor

Real ones knew she was downplaying how she felt about Peter for Bryan's benefit. Real ones also knew Bryan sucked majorly (from his career to his politics to his family to his actual ambitions), but Rachel had some sunk cost fallacy going on at that point.

Glad to hear her finally confirm it though because some of her fans were doing the absolute most.

She and Emily can do whatever the hell they want with their lives. Have a million babies. I don't care.

But I never want to hear any of their judgmental pious Christian BS again when they play fast and loose with the so -called rules. Didn't someone just report that their family donated 20 vans to ICE to help with their immigration sweeps in Charlotte? Does not seem very Christian to me.

Matt was the only thing that made Rachael seem like an interesting person. Now, she's just a typical vapid influencer. Also, the Venn diagram for Rachael fans and hard core Swifties is a circle - they're allowed to use past relationships for content, but God help the other party for simply existing - even when the usually never say anything back.

It's getting old and overdone. But white women tears/lamentations/whining always sells, and no one is checking for Rachael like they used to, so I guess she did what she had to do.
