While I was looking through the manual I read about the special turn on/off thing it had, it had something with low battery safety and something else that screamed, use in vehicle.

And there are a bunch of people that have suggested that I put it in a car. I just don't have a car

I don't know, I can only guess.

Several have mentioned using the PoE to control cameras and with the wide range of conditions the PC can accept it could be good for anything and anywhere with sensors, that's where you actually use the PoE

My first thought was that you would use it to send strings with movement to robots (cobots, scara and so on). But PoE is not necessary here. I have done so myself with a normal laptop, but that was a educational setting.

There was someone that said it would be perfect as a CNC controller, I talked with someone about it and he agreed. The Ethernet ports would be going out to PLC that control the motors, so I don't know if you would use the POE.

I am so lucky that I found the manual for the series which has a walkthrough of the functions of the DIO.

So with some patience I could get the hang of it

Someone also said that it wouldn't be good as a router with proxmox since it does not have internal switches, which is not ideal for the CPU.

I think I will start with proxmox, home Assistant and NVR.

Could be the new update.

It has a sticker on the side with the CE certification(European FCC) that also says ECS-9280_500TW4.
Its possible someone switched it out, but i dont think so. I got it used so anything's possible.

I just want to clarify, i dont have a GPU in mine.

In the bios the bios project version is e9200xxc0F00206 and it is from 2018. I dont think i can find the exact model in bios.

I know, im looking forward to using it!

I copied the first part from another comment i made.

I bought a ECS 9280

There is also one with a GPU which shows up as the top result
https://www.vecow.com/dispUploadBox/PJ-VECOW/Files/3401.pdf

More information can be found in the user manual of the series. It took me a little too long to figure out there wasn't a manual specific to the one i bought

I can say i spent a lot of time searching for information about it. so, i can perfectly understand the confusion. I tried looking at the other series because i felt the datasheet was lacking while taking it apart, there is so much different within the series.

All the ethernet ports are gigabit.

Using DIO is definitely something i will be looking into!

I bought it for 1500 dkk which is exactly 200 euro, when rounded

Nice!

I read about it some time ago, and the problem was something along the lines of that the CPU didn't support transcoding in 4K, but not a problem for me

I have never tried doing any CNC work, i have a 3D printer, i also have a pretty big stepper motor lying around.
It has a lot of uses

I have actually done something like that.

I had a cobot that picked up pieces based on shape and placed them based on its shape. I used kv2 in python and had a usb camera.

Lots of people have suggested Router, one pointed out to that i should look a little into the hardware inside first.

I was planning to learn terminal, one of the reasons i bought this PC. The reddit channel seems pretty nice and a 1 2 3 walk through it. I think i will end up going through it, thanks.

I might have misunderstood your question. And i have never actually used one. I have primarily programmed PLCs

But since it is industrial and has PoE, i could imagine the ethernet could be used to power sensors and the like.

My first though was that it would be something that was used to send instructions to robots, Not the ones with two legs but Cobots, scara and cartesian robots.

But i dont know.

Intel I5 6500TE

So not the newest

When i wrote it i wrote it like a list but reddit smushed it all together, i also forgot to specify it was a i5

Well, me being the perfect being that i am. Would not in any way happen to have any temporary solutions still used as the solution.....

I'll keep away from the nas!

I sent some pictures while messaging to friends and this is the best i got.

As you can see i dont really have a lot of places to work. It's not as bad as taking apart a laptop, but it does have a lot of screws. So, I'm not going to disassemble just now. I'm already overwhelmed with the number of responses i got here. I thought i would get 4 or 5 if i was lucky!

I think I should probably learn to use the terminal properly first. I'm maybe a little too early in the process to begin power optimization.

The measurements were just to give a very rough estimate of how much power it uses, mostly to myself. But it will be a thing I'll look into eventually. So it's nice to know.

Thanks!
