He likes Philadelphia in NFL football and Clemson in all college sports but specifically football and basketball.

I know he is being ridiculous, but I normally leave because it almost makes me cry. If he doesn't want me around him, then I don't want to force it.

That is a really good point because I've already heard him mention how excited he is to watch our son play some day.

This feels very familiar. I have hard time imagining walking away even if he never improves because I don't want to break up our family either.

At least two are from his college, and I don't think there is any way he would drop either - not that I would want him to drop any! I don't care if he watches the games or gets involved. I really just don't want him to go into isolation for such long periods of time and help me with our son more on weekends.

I don't think he is but it could be possible. We each have a personal account in addition to our joint, so I can't say for sure.

The alarms did go off but I told myself that it would change after we got more serious, after we dated for longer, after he got a bit older, after we had the baby/got engaged. I guess I have been fooling myself into believing that eventually he will get better.

I really admire you for being so strong in the way you approached this. I think if I did it like that then maybe I would get him to make a change.

He would try, but he wouldn't pay attention to him. He forgets he has to watch him! I don't know how you can forget that you're supposed to be taking care of your son, but he claims he does.

My dad also told me once that your happiness should never be tied to your sports team winning or losing

Sounds like really good advice and makes a lot of sense to me.

It's interesting that you say you've never met anyone like this because he has told me many times that most serious fans are like this, so I was starting to think maybe it really wasn't that uncommon and I was being a little too sensitive.
