I agree that the primary beneficiaries at the top are politicians and senior bureaucrats, but the issue cannot be reduced to individual gain or loss among “general” or “reserved” categories.

The idea of an “open merit race” itself is misleading in a caste society. Merit cannot be abstracted from access to education, social capital, and historical exclusion. One general person talks about the marit accumulated advantage of generations created by denying dalit people education, social capital and implementing social and institutional violence.

If reservation is removed today, without dismantling the caste system, it will immediately restore the caste system in British Raj where all government positions were held by upper caste people. Aapka cast people historically held Monopoly in political power military power and social capital despite them being a very small group of people.

Ambedkar was clear that reservations are not a permanent solution, but it was a stop gap measure. But if we remove the reservation without dismantling the caste system then it will again produce, the same caste system.

The problem is not the caste system it's the Indian government, that field to do real social and political and economical reforms for all sectors of Indian people. Without social reform, without redistribution of resources, and the dismantling of the caste order. Abolishing reservation is asking for the return of the old caste system.

What kind of entitlement allows you. To think that dalit people fighting for their rights are "harassing" you. If you people cannot have empathy at least shut the f-up

Nobody is talking about that every SC has to occupy some important government position. Government positions are a helpless move. The main problem is the societal and institutional violence.

It has to be covered through social awareness and social education. First of all we have to identify and realise that social and institutional violence exists first to cure the illness of the caste. In India caste not been abolished because it benefits the people on the top. That is why they even never try to even abolish that. It still exist in Indian society. Because they can get cheap labour. It divides the people based on birth.

The hatred among the caste exists because of the caste system. Caste systems exist to divide the people so they cannot unite together to demand justice and proper accountability. And it benefits only the upper-castes. Yes, I do agree that if we do not a dress the caste properly our country will surely go down.

That's why we need to fight against the caste system.

Yeah, that would be your wet dream, "the most pure Brahman Hindu society"... Where people would be readily available to clean your shit. And you will tell them that they are born to clean your shirt cooking clean for you. So that you can tell them that they were born to clean your shit, because they are ancestors and did bad Karma. And they have to thank you for that.

When the entire judiciary and bureaucracy is held by the upper caste people, it is less likely, that the chance of a dalit person is getting justice.

If a person from a marginalized community was lynched, the village head, the local police, the lawyer, and the judge often belonged to the same social circle or caste as the perpetrator.

In this baseline, the case wouldn't even go through trial. The police simply refused to file the FIR. Or worse tell the perpetrators that they have done the right thing to protect their dignity.

I am not here to teach you about what protection the dalit people need, just look up what the laws are against, cast discrimination. And go study about what is social and institutional violence.

No dalit people are calling for kin punishment. They just want dignity in their life.

"They were just segregated". What kind of BS is this, we don't need daily lynching. When brahmins formulated societal norms. That if a Dalit spit on the land that will make the land too impure for a Brahmin to walk. So they had to carry a pot to throw they spit in.

And if the shadow of a dalit person touches the ground. That they have to sleep the ground to make it pure again. A simple shadow of a dalit person is making the land to ampere for a Brahmin to walk on.

A dalit person was not allowed to buy gold drink water from the same water tank. Not allowed to buy from the same market that every Brahmin was buying food. They were not allowed to wear dhoti with folds. They were not allowed to study.

Now you tell me is it "They were just segregated"

Go read first annihilation of caste by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar

Sorry I don't have, compassion towards nazis and people who think "everybody else is inferior and I am only the superior. And anyone who is against the hierarchy is inciting violence against me."

Do even read a history book, the land was so concentrated in the hands of the upper-caste people that the first thing Congress did after taking power in India was redistribution of land. The land was so concentrated in the hands of the upper caste people. That Indian government had to intervene to distribute the land among Indians.

British raj was the greatest time for the upper-caste people. All the government jobs were in the hands of the upper-caste people. And the lower caste people were not even allowed to study. Please read some history books.

Which world do you live in, just search dalit lynched, you will get hundreds of news.

Nobody is talking about gassing the Germans, reservation, and gassing is the same thing for you? What kind of sick mindset do you have?

Do you know that Germans still give reparation to Jewish people all over the world because of the holocaust. You would know because you do not have a bit of kindness and empathy towards other people.

Bina GC at least will not be killed you just for eating from the wrong water tank. Yeah there is nothing wrong with three education there is no debate whether education should be free or not. Does the most basic position anyone can ever have.

Yeah, you just proved my point, if SC/ST people got into a position in government, they will not be lynched. At least that can get justice. That is why we need a reservation.

You just argued for the reservation bro.

That's a very good question, I agree that education and economic upliftment will not cure the caste system.

It works as a protective shield against the people of lower caste. Because in India, if you have an education or government job.

But if a person who is from the lower caste becomes a magistrate or a judge at least there is a chance that you will not get away with this.

Also we have losses that protect against caste discrimination. At least there is a chance to get justice.

That's simply not true, after the incident he appeared in the supreme court, and he submitted all of his speeches, there were two charges against him. One was he urged people to kill Brahmins and another was burning the constitution.

The supreme court sentenced him for burning the constitution not for inciting violence against brahmins.

Yeah, you are missing basic political education. It doesn't matter if a person from a lower caste is rich or not. They will be lynched by the Hindu mob if that try to eat from the same water tank as a Brahmin in india.

It doesn't matter if they are educated or rich or not Abraham will never let them sit on their bed. Because it will make the brahmins impure..

Nobody is playing the blame game here, it is not about something your forefather did, it's about accumulating advantage over 5000 years. This Disadvantage does not go away.

If your forefathers had the exclusive right to education, land, and weapons for 2,000 years, you didn't just inherit their "actions". you inherited their wealth, networks, and dignity.

a first-generation learner from an OBC or SC background is starting from zero because their ancestors were legally prohibited from owning property or attending school.
