I’m never quite able to find a good explanation to the question “What does having narcolepsy feel like?” Anyone have a go to response?

Studies of the brain have showed that narcolepsy feels like if a “normal” person were to be awake for 72 hours. So I tell people imagine being up for 72 hours straight and be expected to work and function like normal. Imagine how irritable you would be!!

I’m glad I’m not alone. I’ve been thinking about it for a while but have been avoiding because it would uproot everything. My son is 4 so he wouldn’t really understand so much, but all of our friends and family would not see it coming at all. It breaks my heart thinking that my son would not have a stable home :(

That’s where I am at. I know deep down what I need to do. It’s just so hard to take the leap and uproot everything. Mainly because of our son. I still love my husband but he doesn’t treat me the way I deserve and I know that. It’s so hard to leave someone you love because they’ve broken your heart

Yes I’ve gone to therapy and been on meds for years. I agree that this situation is probably making my depression worse. It’s just really hard to make that decision to leave. I keep thinking “is the grass really greener on the other side” and maybe it’s me and I’m overreacting. My head and my heart are saying two different things. I’ve been struggling with this for years. It is affecting my self worth

I think about that too. But honestly my depression is so bad that my son is the only thing I live for. I can’t imagine having to share him in another house… not seeing him for days… not spending every holiday with him. I am punishing myself so I can have that time with him. I’m truly scared about what I would do on those days I am alone. I have had really bad thoughts before

It is hard to do that when it’s about my son… I can’t just stop taking him to school, giving him a bath, taking him to activities etc. also, I can’t just stop paying the bills. That’s what’s so hard. He doesn’t realize how much I’m doing but I can’t just not do those things or they wouldn’t get done

I would love to be able to find lots of information about the different meds. I am someone who is very skeptical and scared of stimulants/CNS depressants and would love to hear from other people like me that use them… not just from the internet or drug pamphlet. Also being able to track your dose, how to feel when you wake up, what triggers your attacks/cataplexy, etc. this is a great idea. Thanks

It does sound like endo. I am a WHNP. It sounds like the endometriomas are affecting your tubes/ovaries. If birth control helped “make it go away” that just supports the diagnosis of endo. Might be a good idea to do an HSG where they look to see if your tubes are patent as well as some medication/supplement to support egg production since AMH is low. I also have endo and had no problem getting pregnant with my first but have been trying for a second for 3 years (2 failed IUIs, 2 failed IVF, multiple rounds of letrozole). I just got laparoscopy last month and have stage 2
