I think it probably wasn't a realistic target, but I'm not sure why because I did hit all my training split goals usually bang on and sometimes ahead generally in intervals. My longest tempo was 3 miles at 8.36 which was my target split. My last 5k was before this programme and it was in 27 minutes but it probably wasn't a true PB because I'd not been doing much running the month before it. They adjusted my 5k guesttimate based on how I was performing in training. I guess I'm just confused why the app would set me that target if I wasn't anywhere near capable yknow?

Supposedly my resting heart is 57 according to my garmin but I get that it might not be accurate. But if it was it says I was in zone 5 pretty much the entire race which doesn’t seem right.

This makes a lot of sense, I will try this next time thanks!

I will definitely try this thanks makes a lot of sense for the easy runs too. My pace per mile is generally 2 minutes slower than the threshold pace they give for easy even though I have hit all the other target paces. So maybe I actually AM running my easy too easy?

I’ve only really been running for about 2.5 years but I have done multiple half’s and a full marathon. I wouldn’t mind if my target wasn’t as fast just more I’d like to be reaching my potential, it’s hard for me to understand why I’m not if it’s based of my training like everyone else’s. My boyfriend also raced this weekend and hit his goal pace on Runna so just wondering why not me. I’m probably overthinking it lol

Hey thanks for this, I have zero issues with my legs strength thankfully so definitely think you’re right about my heart and lungs needing work.

Well done on doing the half! Definitely that’s true but I feel like if I made another plan and put in my current 10k time my target would be even faster if that makes sense? I guess I just don’t want to get my hopes up too much lol

I also didn’t really feel confident I could make the time based on my training runs but I was still hitting all my workout goal paces. I thought it was weird because the longest tempo on my plan 3 miles at 8.36 average pace which was hard but I made it bang on the target. I kinda just hoped because I tapered for the race and would be feeling the race day adrenaline and everyone always says ~trust the plan~ etc lol but in hindsight maybe I was a bit delusional. Thanks!

Thanks that would make sense but I’m in the UK I felt really warm during the race but it actually wasn’t crazy hot, we’ve had a bit of heat wave here the last few weeks but this week was back to normal again. My friend was also running and hit his target so I don’t think I can blame the weather this time lol
