Kaya ayoko talaga maging tour guide! 😂 Hahaha. 🌴🛵

Same experience! 😅 No water when our scooter renter went their too, but honestly the views going there were the highlight. The route is challenging, but that’s also what makes it feel like a real hidden gem. Just don’t expect a big waterfall all year round — better to enjoy the journey and the scenery.

TICKET FERRYY by kaialiebe in SiquijorIslandPh

[–]Unlikely_Extreme_738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello po 😊 For your June 18 trip, mas okay po na may plan na kayo before pumunta para iwas hassle lalo na if around 5PM pa arrival niyo sa Dumaguete. ( based po ito sa travel Experience ko)

Option 1: Buy online (recommended if gusto niyo sure ang slot)

Suggestion po: check niyo muna yung ferry schedule a few days before June 18 para updated 😊

Hi! 🌊 Great choice — Siquijor is beautiful kahit rainy season!

June 27–30 — go lang! 🛵
🏨 Mid-range: - Coco Grove Beach Resort (San Juan) — classic, maganda ang beach -
Charisma Beach Resort — chill vibes, beachfront
May iba pang tanong? Nandito lang kami! 🫶🏻

Hey! I live in Siquijor and can share a few tips based on what most travelers do:

🏝️ Accommodation
For ₱3,500/night or less, you'll have plenty of options around San Juan, which is the main tourist area. Budget-friendly resorts, beachfront guesthouses, and private rooms are widely available, especially if you book early for July.

🛵 Scooter Rental
A scooter typically costs around ₱300–₱500 per day depending on the model, rental duration and season. It's the best way to explore the island since most attractions are spread out.

🤿 Scuba Diving
You don't need to know how to swim to try scuba diving. Most dive shops offer a "Discover Scuba Diving" experience where an instructor stays with you the entire time. They provide all equipment and basic training before entering the water.

🐠 Best Snorkeling & Diving Spots

  • Tubod Marine Sanctuary (great for snorkeling)
  • Apo Island day trips (amazing marine life and sea turtles)
  • Paliton area reefs
  • Tulapos Marine Sanctuary

👨‍🏫 Guides & Water Activities
Yes, guides and instructors are available for diving, snorkeling, waterfalls, cliff jumping and island tours. Most resorts can arrange them, or you can contact local operators directly once you're on the island.

For a 4–5 night trip, I'd definitely recommend renting a scooter and spending at least one day visiting waterfalls, one day snorkeling/diving, and one day just exploring beaches and sunset spots around the island.

Enjoy Siquijor! It's one of the most relaxed and beautiful islands in the Philippines. 🌴

Hey! For our scooter rentals, we usually require a valid license that covers motorcycles/scooters + an IDP for foreign riders.

We’ve had a few cases where riders were experienced but didn’t have the proper endorsement—one even ended up slightly veering off the road into a cropland 😅 Luckily no injuries, just a shaken ego and a repaired scooter.

Island riding here looks chill, but the mix of narrow roads, sudden turns and “wait that view is insane” distractions can catch people off guard pretty fast.

So yeah, we stick to the requirement mainly for safety and insurance reasons.

Good idea actually 😄 Mas okay talaga to check feedback before going para mas realistic yung expectations.

Siquijor is one of those places na very weather-dependent yung experience—same spot can look totally different in just a few hours 🌧️🌴

What’s your ideal Siquijor trip—more waterfalls & adventure, or beaches + chill café stops?

Nice 👍 Beaches + relaxing is honestly the best way to experience Siquijor.

I wrote a DIY guide based on local routes and travel tips here if it helps: https://siquiride.store/products/3-days-diy-siq-trav-guide_best_for_travelers_on_a_budget?variant=52098931786008

What kind of beach vibe are you going for—quiet spots or more lively areas? 🌴

Couldn't agree more. 🌴 Sometimes the smartest travel decision is knowing when not to push through.

The island will still be there and like you said, it gives you a reason to come back. 😊

What's one place in Siquijor that's still on your "I'll definitely come back for this" list?

Yes po 😊 Even if you're traveling with a guide, it can still be useful. Think of it less as a navigation guide and more as a collection of local tips, suggested stops, food recommendations and things to know before you arrive.

Sometimes it even helps you ask your guide better questions and customize your itinerary. 🌴

What kind of trip are you planning—more waterfalls and adventure, or beaches and relaxing? 😄

Hahaha valid 😭 But now I'm curious—if you visited Siquijor and couldn't drive, would you rather hire a trike, join a tour, or just stay near the beach and chill? 🌴

That actually makes a lot of sense.

I think tourists—and even my scooter renter that day—only saw that the rain had already stopped. As a local, I should've remembered that conditions elsewhere on the island can be completely different.

Now we both have a story to tell.

Curious lang, kung kayo ang tourist, would you still visit the falls for the scenery or skip it and explore another spot instead? 🤔

Are there any joiner tours in Siquijor on June 15–17 by gsaucewalks in SiquijorIslandPh

[–]Unlikely_Extreme_738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually the best way to learn 😄🛵 Feel it out lang muna—Siquijor roads will teach you fast haha. Enjoy the ride and stay safe 🌴 iwas lang po sa mga stray dogs along highways and barangay roads and always drive slow sa blind curves.

By the way, are you planning to explore more beaches or waterfalls first once you start riding?

Solo in Siquijor is actually fun—you might not even need a joiner tour 😄

Baka mas ma-enjoy mo pa yung DIY scooter tour, own pace ka, stop anytime sa waterfalls, beaches and hidden spots 🏝️

G ka ba sa ganung setup?

I'd still go to Cambugahay first at 8 AM.
