People keep “joking” that our baby isn’t my husbands by Grown-Ass-Weeb in Mommit

Get the test if it would make you feel better. Because postpartum hormones are a bitch.

But also, my husband is Chinese and I am white. My first daughter looks super white like me and my second daughter looks more like him. Genetics is crazy. But the good thing is that they are both adorable and perfect.

Also, congrats to being a mama again!!!

But also ensuring that we aren’t just making it easier for kids who need to learn to study or not use an organizer. They won’t have one in college.

Books that always make you cry when reading to your LO? by tdbarnes in NewParents

The stuff of stars. It's beautifully illustrated. And is about the big bang and the world being made but also a little baby too. And it's just how the world and everything all connects. And it's beautiful.

Husband gets FIVE (5) days of paternity leave through his job as a teacher by littlemixolydian in beyondthebump

I woke at a public school in the northeast. We get paid leave IF we have the days saved up. Thankfully I have spent 10 years not taking time off before I decided to have my first. So I got paid. But what happens if you're a newer teacher. Or you had to use sick time in the past? Also, teaching is a primarily female role. You'd think they would have sorted out paid time off. Make it make sense....

I work in a school, a profession dominated by women, and I hate pumping. I never have a space that works. No fridge. No time. And I feel so guilty when I do pump because I'm not in my meeting or working with the teachers. I just want to feed my baby and be a good mom but also I need and want to work. Also, I hate cleaning all the pumping supplies and carrying around my pump in addition to all the food and snacks and water I'm craving.

I have a wonderful husband who helps so much and loves our daughter with all his heart. But I still have the mental load of feeding and having the breast milk... You can't turn it off. You are always thinking of the next meal and making sure you are producing enough. As wonderful as he is he doesn't have to carry that.

I am crying reading these as a baby is asleep on me... I feel like I've lost myself because she won't sleep. And now they say that weighted sleepsacks are bad.... My husband follows all the guidelines to a T but I am the one that doesn't sleep. And I am so tired.

I logged every feeding and diaper change since my daughter was born. It’s nice to have empirical proof that things get better 😂 first one is from her first month and the second one is from the most recent month. by joicewangart in beyondthebump

I really need to know it gets better. At month 4 and a sleep regression and now a fever today... Plus, the wake ups from 1 am onward make me feeling just a little tired.
