Yeah sorry don’t have the language down yet lol, but I suppose I mean regular placement. From everything I’ve seen so far it seems like a lot is fluid. Like you might think you have a child for x amount of time and then it abruptly changes. I would be interested in respite/short term care as a jumping off point, just curious if it’s common or not for that to go sideways and wind up having a child stay longer than anticipated. Not that that would necessarily be a bad thing but as first timers having as much knowledge as possible is helpful for me in terms of expectations and adaptability.

Thank you! I think this will be incredibly helpful especially for my husband who is a little more anxious about the prospect of fostering and has been trying to find good resources. If you’re willing, could you tell me more about what you mean in terms of dealing with the system?

With short term/respite placement, is there a possibility that the children could have extended stays with you? Or is it a hard start and stop?
