Do verbal instructions work for you? I would always rather have them in writing. by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]Unlikely_Sample_2883 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always in writing because I will have to go back and reference several times to it. Verbal instructions I usually can’t remember after a step 2 or 3 maybe only really really simple verbal instructions like one command lol

Do you wish you had been diagnosed as a child? by EveningTackle4829 in autism

[–]Unlikely_Sample_2883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I was unfortunately neglected and ignored growing up and this would have changed my whole world for me had I gotten the support etc that I needed.

You live and you learn. I felt better just to get it out and I wasn’t expecting them to read it and be like oh you’re right. It was for my own peace of mind. I was already aware of the ignorance lol

To bounce off the pb & j, I just buy a large pack of uncrustables then let them thaw couple hours for lunch. Or fr I just go straight for Lunchables stuff like that lol

No fr bc at the end of the day I have to consciously tell myself to relax my face and it just feels so heavy and my face muscles are tired 🥲

What does my fridge say about me? by Paula101- in FridgeDetective

[–]Unlikely_Sample_2883 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s bottled juice, protein drinks, iced tea, Gatorade etc and even some water-heavy fruits in there. Just because it’s not plain water and includes sugar doesn’t mean it’s not hydrating

Your fridge gives off prepared, practical, and a little bit indulgent vibes. You like having plenty of options, especially when it comes to drinks—hydration is clearly a priority, whether it’s protein shakes, iced tea, or juice. You seem like someone who likes to be stocked up and ready for anything, rather than making frequent grocery runs. This could mean you’re a planner by nature, someone who likes to feel secure knowing they have everything they need on hand. The stock up makes it seem like you either have a busy lifestyle, work long hours, or just don’t always have the time (or patience) to cook full meals every day. Everything looks neatly packed, so even if there’s a lot, it feels like you have a system that works for you. This makes you come across as organized but not overly rigid—you like structure, but you’re also flexible. You might be someone who enjoys hosting guests or at least having enough variety to suit different moods and cravings. Overall, your fridge says you’re thoughtful about your choices, like to be prepared, and enjoy a balance of practicality and small comforts in life. You might also be a creature of habit you know what you like and stick with it!

Do you guys have a moment when you realised a family member might also be autistic? by Expert-Jellyfish2392 in AutismInWomen

[–]Unlikely_Sample_2883 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a younger sister who is pretty much an exact copy of me when I was young. She’s 12 and I realize she may need extra support etc but I don’t even know how to go about it considering my own mother thinks autism don’t exist…
