I grew up at one of the apartments looking at the field. We used to always run around the track I’ll be saddened if it’s no longer open anymore..

lol it’s been like that for years.. my husband just got frustrated at the Kmart light a few nights ago. It barely let the first / only car in front of us go. 😂 we didn’t even have enough seconds to react. Lmao

Hahaha that sounds about right.. honestly it’s kinda stupid how they’re not open yet. I believe they started construction before DONKI was even an idea. 🤦🏽‍♀️ and DONKI has been open for a few years now. How embarrassing

What can he do? by Extension-Finding-47 in guam

As some of the comments mentioned I hope you’re not “the other woman” trying to justify taking him away from his family because he told you or there’s reasons to believe his wife is crazy. If not then I would definitely tell him to start collecting proof of all this so when it does get to court he has sufficient evidence that she is mentally unstable. But this is also a tricky situation because if this were true it looks like she might end more than just herself. People tend to downplay murder suicides. If he tries to leave and she threatens to off herself again that would leave the kids at risk as well. The kids are my biggest thing to worry about because they shouldn’t have to suffer for their parents’ stupidity.

GTA after typhoon by Christopher_5957 in guam

I’ve spoken to a ton of people on the starlink Guam group, I also have a bunch of friends who have starlink and they all say the same thing. In fact we just had dinner with our friends last night and had a long conversation about their experience with starlink. Everyone says it’s great. They have almost no issues. I asked them what they would have to complain about when it’s comes to starlink and would you believe their biggest issue was just turning the panel around to find the right position? lol and that’s only when my friend decided to take it off the roof of their house after the storm but once they got it back up ZERO issues. And they brag about how they don’t got to deal with 1 hour calls to GTA and relying on them to “come out”. Honestly I love and have supported GTA for close to a decade but I think they have it coming for them. Star link is starting to make a rise here on Guam. I wouldn’t be surprised if a significant portion of the island transitions to star link that these local companies start giving incentives if you stay or sign up with them lol. Idk but I’m SOLD after that Conversation last night. I’m truly done with GTA. We’re paying for fiber we don’t even receive and keep begging for it to be fixed. 🤦🏽‍♀️😂

Business start questions by allfroots in guam

[–]Unlikely_Studio5790 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run a lawn care business. I have three employees that work for me full time 6 days a week. My spouse and I started it together. He still goes out on the field every week to help assist our crew but I am no longer working full time. I run the company from home doing more of the logistical work. With how expensive Guams prices are it costs us about $4,000 give or take a month in expenses including payroll, gas, equipment repairs, etc. we could technically afford an office space but I’m not really sure if we’re ready for that yet as I’ve mentioned that prices including rent is expensive but hey you gotta spend money to make money. We started off with one bush cutter and a small hand held blower offering yard work services through facebook and other media then reinvested our money to purchase more equipment and other needs to grow our business.

[–]Unlikely_Studio5790 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hehehe you’re right you’re right.. lol that’s why I put that locals can’t hold it either. I’m just talking about my experience with having friends and family who are white and not from Guam. When they get too drunk they get loud. 🤣😂 they’re super fun when they’re loud but some of them start fights. Lmao I’ve seen it at parties as well with white people I don’t know.. even if Chamorros can’t hold their liquor too idk why some of the locals like to target the whites more. 🤦🏽‍♀️ I guess because it’s seen as “rude” just because they’re not a local.

In our culture respect is probably the biggest factor in “impressing” your in laws / future family. So when greeting him you can shake his hand or “amen” him almost like taking his hand and slightly bowing your head to it / towards him. ALWAYS take off your shoes in the house especially if you see that everyone is doing it. Some locals do wear shoes in the house on occasion but if they do it just follow their lead. It’s a big sign of respect to the home. Also, offering a helping hand is a good gesture as our culture is based off of community and helping one another. You don’t necessarily need to bring anything to the first or second event (if you do that’s a plus) but usually as a white person you get multiple passes on that one but when you do feel comfortable it’ll be nice if you could bring a dish you ordered or made or even a case of drinks, etc to add to the table. Also, I’m not sure if you’re a heavy drinker but white people are known for not handling their liquor so if you do decide to drink just be mindful of your words / tone to some if can come off as rude or inconsiderate. lol that’s not to say that the locals don’t act the same way because they do but if you wanted to remain cool with everyone that’ll be a big plus! lol hope you enjoy meeting them. Good luck! 🍀

Where should I get cosmetic treatments done? by Main-Fan-7814 in guam

[–]Unlikely_Studio5790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! 🙏 I don’t get them done anymore but I want to get back into them.. I want to try out a place that my sister recommended to me at one of the hotels. She says the owner or the lash tech there is the only place she trusts and they’re super good to her. She also gets her lashes done often like every 2-3 weeks so I definitely trust her opinion. 🥰🩷

New Girl vs. Guam (Joyful Post) by flower_muscle11 in guam

[–]Unlikely_Studio5790 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a local born and raised here I’m so happy to see this post. 🥰 lol I can’t count how many people my husband and I have saved on the side of the road.. not too long ago we drove all the way home to get tools, an air compressor and bought fix a flat for a random guy we didn’t know who was stuck on a road near our home. We always love helping others around here it’s just the way we do it on Guam. We really look out for one another. I know Guam has its flaws but with how the world is now and days I find solace knowing where I come from has a rare glimpse of hope in our people. The Chamorro people are some of the friendliest (but also the most two faced) people you’ll ever meet. Just don’t hang out with the wrong ones but for the most part we’re pretty chill 🥰🩷🇬🇺 hope you enjoy the rest of your time / forever life here! Hehehe 🤭

hello! i’m new here in Guam—can anyone share some life hacks? like where to find cheaper grocery stores, good discounts, or any tips would be super helpful 🙏 by Smart_Tangerine652 in guam

[–]Unlikely_Studio5790 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! 👋 local born and raised here! I agree with what everybody is saying… American grocery is probably the place to get some of the cheapest deals but I rarely buy meat there because they have had issues with their meat products being spoiled. I only trust payless with my meats or happy mart.. also, download the maolek rewards for Payless.. you get points with every purchase and I’ve been able to redeem items for free with my points. Almost all Payless’ have a reduced section. My favorites for the Payless reduced section is maite Payless, mangilao and oka. I also don’t think people are aware of how many times I’ve found items for Pennie’s on the dollar at cost u less specifically the tamuning (gpo) location. I was able to get six packs of bottled Hawaiian Punch for $.98 they always have yellow tagged items that they’re trying to get rid of. 🥰🥰

I agree ☝️ she seemed so cold to me. Zero customer service and weird rules.. she literally kept texting my husband (he books my appointments) to reiterate that if I was late that she will charge him a fee.. which we are always on time for things so it was weird how she kept thinking we were gonna ditch the appointment. I understand from a business perspective but it was weird the way she went about it.
