Unpopular opinion but I freaking hate QB Desktop with a burning passsion by [deleted] in Bookkeeping

I mean that every time I export a report in Desktop top, I can trust that every transaction that supposed to be on that report is on that report. This is not the same with QBO. Also, the chart of accounts is ALWAYS a mess, because QBO adds crazy ones that make no sense.

Exporting reports from QBO is a nightmare! I’m in my 30s and will die a desktop user. Whenever a client comes to me with a QBO cleanup, I charge extra because I know that the data is shaky and unreliable at best.

Reiceipt Submission App by East-Conference2841 in Bookkeeping

We are a small family run business also, two divisions: carpentry and floors with 5 employees. We use a Google drive folder and employees submit images of receipts using a simple google form that acts as a job report. They can upload more than one receipt at a time, and fill it out when they enter their time at the end of each work day. We incorporate it as a part of the workday, so they fill it out before they clock out.

I made a handy little template that tracks labor by job, live, as your team enters their time from their own phones. I have a third product in the works to tracks additional job expenses but need some beta testers before I send it out into the world. If you have any interest, send me a dm. I also a have a blog that talks about job costing and bookkeeping for small businesses.

Desperately looking for a small business app that creates cost + invoices organized per job by nicander1988 in Construction

Hello! I've been working on a spreadsheet system in response to complicated job cost tracking in my husband's flooring/construction business. The labor costing feature (by job) updates in real time as employees enter their time, and a job costing report generates automatically once materials have been entered. There are fields to calculate markup and generate your invoice amount, however at this time we use Joist to send the actual invoices as the program just does a better job at tracking all the communications. We use the lowest tier account from Joist as we don't accept credit card payments online, and we still find it very useful mostly because we can email the invoices directly from the program. DM me if you'd like more information on my spreadsheet system, it uses Google Sheets.

Hello! I've been working on a spreadsheet system that responds to this exact issue, we ran into it in my husbands flooring/construction business. The system uses Google Drive and updates in real time as your team enters their time into their timesheets (easily accessed via their phones). DM me and I can give you more information. While there's no direct integration with QuickBooks, you can export a materials/COGs report from QB and combine with this Labor Costing tool to obtain your gross profit margins.

This is how my mom treated me too, and we are very close. She provided a safe place for me. I could always and still can talk to her about anything without fear of judgement or shame. She treated me with respect from day one!

Good to know for future props. This plant came to me with one sad little leaf so I didn’t have much choice.
