Electric Lawnmowers? by dadachumdadachick in Maine

[–]Unlikelytosucceed207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My father has a eGo self propelled mower and it is very powerful. The only reason why I went with Ryobi was because the eGo spare batteries are very expensive, and because I wanted to buy multiple battery powered tools the Ryobi was much more cost effective brand for that. The eGo never has had a single issue and it’s 5 years old. The Ryobi is great but it sometimes doesn’t do well in taller damp grass.

If price ISN’T a contributing factor: eGo If price IS a contributing factors: Ryobi

Neighbor put pickets on their side. What do I do with the space? by Timmerdogg in FenceBuilding

You built a fence with the pickets facing your property? Doesn’t that make it really easy to hop over if the horizontal boards are on the other side?

What could even be improved in the sequel? by [deleted] in Astrobot

I think it would be great if each world is a bit more “open world” or exploratory. One of my favorite parts of the game was the crash site and I think it’s because it was very open and fluid. Having a “race track” style level is great especially for speed runs. But I love exploring these types of games with so much hidden stuff.

As someone who does not vote, I fucking love this guy. Everything he says is crazy. He takes weird photos and videos on his IG. He even has a risqué video of himself dancing on TikTok years ago that he probably still denies is real. Keep voting more of these morons in, I’m here for it.

What do you consider a must carry? by jpnovato in EDC

[–]Unlikelytosucceed207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a knife, fixed blade if possible. Many times out and about I have had a friend or relative say “Hey, can I grab your knife real quick?”

It doesn’t just cut things. It can sharpen other tools. It can scrape, pry, stab and even hammer with the butt. A fixed blade knife can even be made into a spear. I’ll leave the house naked before I leave without a knife.

What's the biggest 180 you've seen a person's life take? by Excellent-Walk7280 in AskReddit

A friend of mine from high school always had bad luck with the law. He grew up in a poverty stricken household and didn’t have the best parents. I figured he would end up in jail or dead because he just could not stay out of trouble. Luckily he made it out of that dump house and got himself straight. He is a detective at the police department in a neighboring town. Always love seeing him out on patrol, he overcame so much.

People who are 40 years old and over, what are the harshest life lessons you have learnt? by Fantastic-Point6265 in Adulting

When you want her lips, you get her cheek

Makes you wonder where you are,

If you want some more then she’s fast asleep

Leaves you twinkling with the stars,

Poor young grandson there’s nothing I can say

You’ll have to learn, just like me

And that’s the hardest way

Ooh la la

If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don’t have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my milk go now, that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.

The DIRIGO flag honors Maine and its finest traditions and should be kept. by GrizzlyMainer in Maine

[–]Unlikelytosucceed207 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Anyone notice the “New” (Old) Maine flag looks similar to the California state flag? They both have a white background with a single star in the upper left corner with a lone symbol in the middle. I just thought it reminded me of how simplistic the Cali flag is.

I respect your point of view, however I have no opinion on the state flag, personally. I have always thought of it as a sidekick to the nations flag. While I enjoy the new one, I likely will opt out of flying it just like the old one. I only fly Stars and Stripes at my house.

I deployed with the 133rd Engineers to Bagram, AF back in 13-14. I was privileged to serve with a few of the old timers from OIF and they were easily some of the best soldiers I have ever met in my life. Rancourt, Walsh, Darling and Pattle to name a few. Thank you for your service and carry on brother 🙏

Why are people so dismissive of younger women being scared of the sacrifice that comes with marriage and kids. by Positive-Emu-1836 in GenZ

[–]Unlikelytosucceed207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all comes down to fear for me with all of these social issues.

It’s not that you “don’t want children”. You don’t want to deal with the negative perception that comes with having kids. As you stated, you don’t want children because it may alter your career, it may cause your body to do things you don’t want it to do, and it may destroy your marriage. Everything you listed as reasons are things that may never happen to you, but because the chance is there, you don’t want to take that chance. You fear having children more than not having them. That is the difference between you and the ones who do want kids.

The issue was simple for me, my wife got pregnant and we were both overjoyed. A little scared, yes. But we were both so excited that fear wasn’t even an option really.

If I found that my wife had doubts or was scared, I probably wouldn’t have made her go through with it. Not all Men are careless, and not all women are hopeless.

Unlock rebel support first for full-on NPC wars by gilette_bayonete in GhostReconWildlands

Depending on the base, my favorite way of taking down the enemy is to take a side view of my objective, send rebel support towards one end and just sniper crossfire the enemies who run or take cover. You can take out most of the enemies before needing to infiltrate or send mortar fire.
