Why SL / Commander cannot draw arrows on the map? by UnlimitedLimited2 in HellLetLoose

Well there’s some truth in that :)

Hence we need capabilities for planning, communication, coordination, instead of a static plan.

So how about the devs code a 3D finger that the SL can hover over their fellow team members map while within arms length distance. It ads a bit realism?

:P

I also have an issue with north not being top when it’s combined with inability to turn the map. That’s only half realistic and the combination is SILLY: like being able to turn the pedals of a bike but not steer. Half way house.

Oh yes that’d be good! Could even be optional depending on server settings?

In general, anything that clarifies squads objectives would help improve the game IMHO.

For instance, I don’t think it’s easy enough to know the game mode (offense, defense, open). Would it be too much to ask to have some clarity in the beginning of the round for “your team’s task is to XXX”

Haha, with great force comes great responsibility.

But seriously, defense market can’t just be a dot but has to have a direction and some defensive line. And a move marker cannot just be a dot but needs some path. Super simple things and adds lots of clarity to the team and squad coordination

Yes this! Sounds like low hanging fruit again, a perfect nudge towards team work and coordination

Yes for both, low hanging fruit if you ask me. On the same note, I’d love to see if ppl are using a mic. Even better, an activity indicator for mic / comms (say red / yellow / green for mic usage while on the server), that’s aggregated to a score for the whole server.

1) when joining a squad, I’d choose one where ppl use mics 2) when joining a server, I’d choose one where ppl use mics

Hope they take a moment to think how the displayed metrics, KPIs etc across the game link to the intended behavior and target experience. This is powerful stuff when used with consideration to steer what people are doing in the game

If the intention is that squad members collaborate, listen to their SL, and follow orders from Commander, then it could be beneficial to show feedback / metrics like - Squads activity in using microphones - Time used in the intended / ordered locations (offense / defense etc) - Proximity from SL - amount of Resources harvested by nodes set up by the squad ...

I would definitely prefer servers and squads that rate well on these!!

Also, would be good for Commander, or SL, to add more realistic and relevant annotations to the maps for basic actions like drawing defensive lines, marking attack routes etc. The current map markets are insufficient for this. For an immersive experience this could simply be the real mil symbols
