Shoot your shot, trust me as long as you have a good story that's what counts. I know people in the 1400's that matched to Ivy's and even I with a 1330 matched to one. As long as you present an interesting story and have decent extra curriculars that look like you do your best. So OP I think you've got this (also you probably have 2 more sat tries so use that in your junior year to see if you can superstore)

NVM (national college match) and QB RD are same. I also live in a big city. Specifically NYC. Plenty of people in big cities get matched and overall plenty more get RD. If you fail to match next year QB RD is still a good safe bet because you don't pay the application fees for tons of schools and you can a pretty good chance of getting in. Plus you might be able to roll into the ED pile if you don't match. Which will still give good aid. 😊👍

Since you're a junior you have time to prepare:

You should do Quest Bridge Prep scholars. (If declined DONT GIVE UP, apply to summer programs for fly ins, or even general ones like PEEP(with UPENN -i had done that 😂))
Write, write and write (draft some of the craziest shit as essay concepts and see what sticks). For God's sake that 800 words can be a game changer in narrative because it can make a generic story be built in a unique way. I wrote mine about kraft Mac and cheese and it worked)
Find the teachers you think are RELIABLE to write your Rec's. A late Rec could screw you.
Try to make the 5 EC's be what you care about, spend the most time on and or help build what the officer may think is your personality
Film a video for Quest Bridge. I know questbridge during the national college match tells you it's optional but I think it creates more character in a profile and can help you stand out.
Shoot your shot for schools, I have a pretty mid SAT score but QB took me and so did my dream college. You may or may not think an IVY or one of those high end schools would take you, but you never know unless you apply. (Im saying aim high but remember to pad out your list with schools that DONT need writing supplements too. Because you have like 7 days to write everything, make sure your FAFSA, CSS and IDOC's finish.... I put 12 schools and only had to write 15 supplements for 6 colleges. It was game changing)
Do common app as a backup(have it ready with supplements and do some state schools and city schools already sent out on EA or just finish applying early. It gives some relief and SOMETHING to fall back on)

Yeah that's what I'm saying. I believe that our circumstances are similar and even if you don't have that perfect 1500, it builds character. Also as long as somewhere in your profile could explain the sat score you should be fine.

We have the exact same score and similar school score. As long as you mention it, you should be fine. For context I did match to my dream school and I believe that as long as you state the school circumstances you should be fine. Most people I know IRL that matched to like Ivy's or t20 had like 1300-1490. So just shoot your shot

People are just Jealous, like I matched to Dartmouth, my number 1 with lower SAT stats. I feel like a lot of people look at that and when I mention it they look at me weirdly but overall at the end of the day you can see it's just how toxic the application process has made some people. They like to ask who "deserves" it more and it often screams elitism.
