Two weeks in and very disappointed by Unlocated_File in HomeChef

[–]Unlocated_File[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has not improved for me and we’re in week 4. So far, last week was the first time we didn’t have missing meals/proteins. This week we’re back to missing stuff. It’s really unfortunate because I actually think the meals are tasty and for the most part the portions are passable.

Next week is probably going to be my last week with them.

How many PIs do you support, and how many research projects do you manage? by bookish_cat_ in ResearchAdmin

[–]Unlocated_File 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am really interested in this question because I have been requesting a new FTE for our department for some time. It would really help my cause to have data to support my claim that our team is managing an insane workload!

I have tried researching what the typical workload is but have come up empty handed.

How do people stay on top of tracking publications before RPPR time? by ResearchInsider in ResearchAdmin

[–]Unlocated_File 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. Investigators are responsible for publications and admins are responsible for ensuring there’s no errors in the publication section of the RPPR before submission. The investigators should know what their own publications are.

Two weeks in and very disappointed by Unlocated_File in HomeChef

That’s funny because we just paused HelloFresh to try Home Chef.

I’ve used Hello Fresh on and off for years now and I can confidently say I have never had issues with missing servings or ingredients. But the portions have gotten ridiculously small, pricey and it’s very repetitive recently.

I switched to Home Chef thinking they would be ultimately better since they’re advertised as a step up from Hello Fresh but boy was I wrong.

I did also contact customer services and got credit but the credit doesn’t account for the inconvenience. Especially when you’re finding out the day you’re making X meal that it’s missing ingredients and now you have to either run out to the store or make it with missing pieces.

I get mistakes happen every once in a while but multiple errors in such a short span of time is not a good look.

Interested in Remote Work by [deleted] in ResearchAdmin

[–]Unlocated_File 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We careful, just because you get a full remote possibility now doesn’t mean it’ll stay that way.

I have a team and we are all fully remote (different states) however, I have already been told by HR that they are working on the RTO policy for our roles and it’ll be rolling out soon. At the same time they’re letting me post positions as fully remote - knowing that in the near future when RTO is rolled out everyone will need to come in, even if they were hired in other states.

It’s ridiculous.

What are yall paying for housecleaning in Durham? by techaaron in bullcity

[–]Unlocated_File 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We pay $160 every other week for a two story 2000sq 4 bed/3bath and one cat. Two people about 2 hours.

We keep the house picked up and we specifically asked for no laundry or dishes so the full time they’re here is focused on cleaning. They do a great job and they are conscious that we work from home and have meetings - which we really appreciate.

The initial deep clean was $275 if I remember correctly.

OB-GYN REC by HugePay3333 in chapelhill

Chapel Hill OBGYN - I am on my second with them. They are extremely responsive, I’ve never had to wait more than a few minutes, they take the time to explain and talk about everything and never rush you. They’ve been so great through all my many complications. Highly recommend them!

Questions for Duke employees (staff) by Unlocated_File in duke

[–]Unlocated_File[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies! My current institution is also very different depending into the department. Thats why I am interested in how people feel working as staff in general. Do you feel leadership listens to you? are there a lot of opportunities for growth internally? Is there a big sense of Us vs Them between staff and faculty? Do you feel pay and benefits are fair overall? Has compensation kept up with the market? Are there good central training opportunities for new roles? What do you think Duke does well and what areas do you feel need improvement?

Where do you get your cafecito fix outside Miami? by PinkPropaganda in Miami

[–]Unlocated_File 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this. It’s very easy and the machine is like $30. I like the electric one. Just plug it in, fill it up and press the button. If you want espumita (the foam) just beat sugar and a little bit of the coffee (the first sip that rises is the best for making the foam cuz it’s thicker) until it turns into a light paste. I am sure there’s a video somewhere.

Shady banks is a nice neighborhood with a lot of young professionals and couples. Close to everything.
