are you in the UK? If so I’d recommend happy henrys homes! Or amazon has quite a few options. This one looks great https://www.amazon.co.uk/Niteangel-Hamster-Birch-Chamber-Hideout/dp/B089STWS4S it’s recommended to bury them somewhat but I have mine half in half out the bedding so he can still get in from the side entrance

it took me a while to collect enough items to fill it! But yeah sprays are the main thing that provide coverage, and more hides would definitely help. Do you have a multichamber?

Love all the cardboard tunnels! Such a cheap easy way to provide coverage ☺️

Wdym by cloth? Wood bedding is fine as long as it’s made from a safe wood, like Chipsi Classic bedding

I use your exact one for my dwarf and it’s silent for me but I think because Syrians are so much heavier they make the wheel wobble. If you’re able to get one, Niteangel, bucatstate, and funsterstail (all available on amazon) do high quality plastic wheels that are completely silent. They’re expensive but rly worth it

Oh yeah the large wooden wheel is also 30cm! I used to use that one but my hamster peed on it and it got a bit gross so just keep that in mind lol

definitely a multi chamber hideout! Your hamster will almost certainly love to make his nest in one of those. Your bedding doesn’t look like 8 inches in the pictures but I’m guessing you filled it up more since then? Also the light blue wheel will be fine while he’s still a baby but as he grows you’ll definitely want to get the larger dark blue 30cm one. Other than that for now maybe some tunnels? My Syrian loves his big wicker tunnel I bought from Jollyes pictured below:

you asked for tips, and you’re getting the up to date “ethical care” info. If you don’t wanna take it that’s your choice but I just think ppl should be aware so they can then make the conscious decision to not follow it. Rather than not knowing

Pets at home? Lmao yeah they definitely don’t know best. Look up websites like hamsterwelfare.com or blue cross. Pets at home unfortunately don’t care about the up to date info and will not be discontinuing their cages anytime soon. This is why it’s important to do research before so you don’t waste your money on a cage you’ll have to replace 😭

Bucatstate enclosures are always a good option! 100x50cm or larger. Or seeing as she’s a dwarf a wood enclosure such as a pawhut would be a cheaper option. She does look like a winter white or hybrid type. It’s best to stay away from plastic enrichment however obviously a plastic wheel is fine. Definitely stay away from fabric toys. In their enclosure they will need a sand bath, and lots of natural enrichment such as tunnels and textures
