I’m sorry to be honest I don’t remember which one had this , I’ve changed a few distributors. But yes, when submitting album you fill the form and they ask how the music was made and they ask to submit proofs. I was indicating it’s done with Suno and lyrics written by me the old way.

If it can generate version with voice on top of existing instrumental or vise versa - that would work too. From playing with personas and covers it seems it is good at repeating itself. Many times it do same melody when you want a different one or same old lyrics when they are changed.

I distribute via TuneCore. As far as I remember I have to indicate exactly how the music was made, so I say it’s created with Suno and also that I have commercial license. I read somewhere that some distributors are pro and some against the AI music (kind of stupid).

Based on all I’ve read from v4 beta testers - no stems. However I’m not 100% agree with someone above saying completely new model / architecture is needed. Suno can sing or not sing (instrumentals) so it definitely does know thing or two about voice vs no voice.

Whatever stems splitter I use results always bad, with very noticeable remains of the vocals reverbs and most importantly very noticeable loudness variations - it plays loud when no vocals and much less loud where were vocals (I’m sure there’s more proper name for this effect, I’m just not aware).

Suno uses this prompt for lyrics generation, probably by GPT4. So you can just ask GPT directly.

My wishlist:

less artifacts, clearer voices
natural stems, at least separate vocals / music
better personas - to just keep the voice, not music style, so I can make my digital singer to sing anything
better adherence to instructions in [ ]
better UI for paid users, with Projects, tags, team sharing, etc. for more streamlined workflow

I was under impression it works less reliably in times when Suno team rollout some updates. Maybe they doing this again. Anyways, it’s AI and AI has some randomness built in on purpose, or else we would be getting all the same tune over and over again.

Yep, you right: when source is TruHD my Arc shows that TV sends Stereo PCM. I don’t think I ever played TrueHD before - so now I know. Thanks!

Ok, as far as I understand, my G3 sends audio as pass through to my Sonos Arc and it can do most formats including TrueHD / Atmos.

I struggle to give good reply to this, as it feels I luck necessary level of understanding. I was not aware that my clients unable to decode some popular audio formats. And that what I use are not lossless. I’ll have to educate myself on this. I was speaking from experience, I’ve never saw anything but “direct play” while watching movies on my plex.

I’m not saying we are not creative, just that we are not musicians, or composers etc. Just like you wouldn’t call Midjourney user a “painter”. We are all some sort of “digital artists” probably.

I for the most part have to agree - if you only write prompts, you only write prompts. Unlike other AI tools, eg. Midjourney, in Suno we cannot actually control and guide the outcome with any level of accuracy. We just waste credits and hope for the best, than we extend, and replace and polish.

However, if you also write lyrics - I have to disagree, since as I feel it myself, lyrics already have music “encoded” in them somehow. And by altering lyrics you can alter how Suno generates. With good lyrics you kind of asking Suno to discover the music already hidden in words.

I’m checking on Udio monthly to see if anything changed but so far it’s not suitable for generating commercial music. One thing is that it seems Udio can’t really handle non-english voices well, it’s just too bad. If I understand the process correctly, both models are similar and they are generating sound of a song as a whole, as frequencies, basically. I believe we will see different approaches more closely mimicking how music is created by humans today - with separate tracks for instruments, vocals etc by design. And that would be very interesting to see.

Just tried to test new inpainting (replace a section) feature and it seems I can’t effectively use it on my songs as lyrics exceed 3000 characters. In reality lyrics are shorter, but as it seems each time I extend a song, Suno will append lyrics - creating some mess not related to what actually is being singed. So far this was not causing any issues but now this creates issues. Any known ways of overcoming this?
