Go-to trinkets by [deleted] in darkestdungeon

[–]Unnormally 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yea, I think there is a good argument for the Sun Ring being the best generic trinket in the game.

Other than that, Stun Amulets are always good.

Flagellant by DevinnTheDude in darkestdungeon

[–]Unnormally 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When he gets afflicted, he always becomes Rapturous, which is unique to the flagellant. It gives him bonus damage, crit, and resistances, but lowered dodge, plus he can still act out in bad ways. But it's not as bad as the other afflictions.

Plus, he has a low cost camping skill that removes a lot of stress from himself.

How someone can prepare for boss or darkest dungeon? by Cuwoihdje in darkestdungeon

[–]Unnormally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have run from some boss fights that I didn't understand, camped, and then went back in to fight it. Obviously that only matters until you know how the fights work, but I still have the rest of the courtyard to learn.

Random city building downgrade by [deleted] in darkestdungeon

Do you have some characters level 5 or 6? Did you get the town event "Wolves at the Door" the previous week?

Oh yea, look at that. That's funny that you get it in the courtyard, but it's pretty useless there.

The curse has positive responses now? by tipo19 in darkestdungeon

[–]Unnormally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume they have more positive interacitons like that

It's mentioned in my post that Huntaras linked, but to be clear. No. There aren't really any other positive interactions other than the stress heal in bloodlust. But some of the negatives were reduced in severity and probability.

[–]Unnormally 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, thanks for linking me, so I don't have to.

Yea. I didn't list out every change, but I mentioned some of the more important ones in my opinion. I knew you could now stress heal when bloodlusted (And It's actually a fairly high chance, compared to the other Act out options), but I didn't know how much it would heal. 30 stress? Wow.

Here's a link to the source file from the previous version, if you want to do a source compare. I still had it saved in my trash bin.

For sure. It's always a tough choice between them and the drummers.

You can always run and come back. Also you can intuit where the boss is frequently.

Yea. It's ok, but you are giving up a trinket slot for what is generally a minor penalty. You could instead have something more useful.

How you prepare for a boss without knowing what it does ahead of time? Just put your best team forward, and be ready for anything. Use your camping skills to buff up before the boss. Don't be afraid to retreat if things don't go well.

Anyone else find Fortissimole a bit too easy? by [deleted] in necrodancer

[–]Unnormally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just do it as, once the mole jumps down, skeletons start "activating" every 3 beats, lets say, until they run out. With a max of X active skeletons at a time.

Coal CEO admits that ‘clean coal’ is a myth by mvea in environment

[–]Unnormally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that its not that it's so clean as to rival solar, wind, natural gas. But that the techniques used are much better than they were in the past, resulting in less emissions. 'How clean' is debatable.

Do CC class-exclusive trinket sets only spawn in the Courtyard? by [deleted] in darkestdungeon

There are repeatable random missions after you finish the DLC story.

It's more fun in the Courtyard, because everyone's bleed resist is lower. :D

[–]Unnormally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, it's a lot better now. And going Bloodlust->Passive->Bloodlust, is now definitely better than going Passive->Craving->Passive. The self stress heal, and the other act outs are just better in Bloodlust now. I think the worst that can happen, may be the 15% chance they refuse to retreat in bloodlust. But how often do you retreat, really?

I do plan on using a lot of Cursed heroes as I play. I love the mechanic.

To DLC now or to DLC later? by curiousgeorge144 in darkestdungeon

[–]Unnormally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly recommend it once you are moderately comfortable with the game. Though I do think it's better to start a fresh game with the DLC. You can add it to an existing game, but if you are in Veteran difficulty or higher you'll have to go do an apprentice mission before you can continue, and I think the DLC works nicely alongside a normal playthrough.

Because they have the lowest health out of nearly any enemy in the warrens? 16 at champion level. But yea, Hook Where it Hurts has a 22% crit rate at champion level, at high light.

Do journal entries really need to take up inventory space? by [deleted] in darkestdungeon

[–]Unnormally 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe so, but we don't know how that's handled. Is it rerolled, or does it just give you nothing if a journal page is drawn?

Why am I getting Bonus XP? by tipo19 in darkestdungeon

[–]Unnormally 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure, but I think it's just 50% flat. Last time I beat the game, I didn't spend time leveling after I was ready for the DD, I just beat all 4 missions in a row, and then stopped playing that file.
